Why all the hate/negativity?
Cause I have been playing and streaming this game for 3+ hours and all I experience is fun, relaxation and just a great time. Why the hate?

Since most people here are giving unhelpful answers, I'll try to give helpful ones.

- The developers billed this game as a cozy, stress free, ACCESSIBLE, free-to-play experience with MINOR cosmetic microtransactions. The game has almost zero accessibility settings, including colorblind, text adjustment, and other settings that are considered standard across all games, INCLUDING indie games. Mind you, this is not a "small indie game" and has been developed with millions of dollars by people with many many years of game development experience, as they have often bragged.
- The microtransactions they promised would be minimal have become their main development focus in terms of new content, especially when it comes to seasonal events, locking all new wardrobe, furniture, and customization items behind a paywall, some of which costs upwards of $50 USD. All pets are behind a paywall. It's to the point where event announcements and pictures show entirely cash shop items.
- From the beginning of beta launch (I have played since closed beta, we are now still in open beta which I will elaborate on) and even in alpha, server stability has been horrific. Downtime and maintenance was/is almost a daily occurrence because of frequent disconnects even just sitting on Home Plots.
- Despite still being in Beta/Early Access, S6 decided to scrub all mention of this shortly before the Steam release, and began tossing out mutes and bans in the discord and on the subreddit for anyone mentioning this. The culture as a whole on the discord and subreddit has been one of toxic positivity, only allowing comments that praise the devs, including a full replacement of the moderation team in December just days after the Switch release because of how horrible it became. It's gotten even WORSE after the steam release, with mods there claiming they have been "brigaded" and suffering a "raid" and that the Steam reviews are "bots and trolls" despite them flat out disallowing all dissent in the server. Disabled players in particular have attempted to voice their concerns and been banned or shot down.
- The amount of rampant bugs is rarely if ever addressed, and S6 prefers to focus on adding more microtransactions and doing dumb things like nerfing drop rates on rare mining nodes so the grind for materials is an even longer grind. There is a lack of transparency by the devs, while the mods and community managers will repeatedly tell you to "fill out the feedback form" as if it does anything.

TL;DR: S6 pretends to be a small indie studio suffering from lack of money but has plenty, uses it to put more cash shop items in the game rather than address serious concerns, and bans anyone who does anything other than worship the ground they walk on

Could you elaborate on that?

basically, you saying that everyone who has something bad to say about the game is "miserable" makes me feel really unheard and misrepresented. personally, when i have something to say it doesnt feel good when people attack my character or generalize me.

i know a lot of people also respond to those feelings by getting louder or trying to say the thing they were trying to say more vehemently. (i definitely do too!)

which probably makes you even more firm in your belief: all of us are miserable.

which i understand, that happens to me sometimes too. but i feel like we can all understand eachother, and even if we have negative things to say we're deserving of respect.

does that help?
Everyone that only has nothing but sheer negativity toward the game, yes. Those people are exhausting to even engage in. If you're giving negative feedback in a civil manner with solutions to then progress that discussion, then you're not being included with my previous comment putting hateful/negative players on blast. There's a lot of reasonable negative feedback that I agree with as well, but there's a difference between "I didn't enjoy this content, here's a list of things I feel would make it much better and engaging" oppose to "God this game is trash, they didn't even fix anything and broke even more stuff with the update! Typical S6, do they even know how to make a game? Don't bother playing this!"

Hopefully that clears it up for you and yes your further explanation helps, thank you.

No idea what ESG-DEI is..

I'm not sure, either, but from context it seems to be the new 'woke'.

Does a post need to be about me in order to call out its hypocrisy?

In short, ignore the haters. Play how you want without the fear of needing to min max this or that in order to play efficiently and to have "fun".
It's clear you ignore any criticism, which is fine, but it's not fair you attack and harass the people who are here sharing their feedback.

The "stuck/cannot move anymore" bug with merchants is just ultra annoying, You have to Alt F4 and relaunch the game. Happened to me more than 10 times in 3 hours

I would recommend reading the reviews as many long term players shared their concerns here(which have been largely ignored by S6)

This. I love the game, but it needs work. Badly.

For a studio that touted where it's 'talent' came from (Blizzard and Riot), they are making some terrible mistakes that not even games made by one or two people make.

And gods help you if you try to point that out in Discord or Reddit. You either get dog-piled or silenced or both.

I miss when you were a valheim mod. Good times
Stinboi Mar 26, 2024 @ 2:16pm
there will allways be hate and toxicity when release on steam, expecially if its an MMO.

Mostly becouse of monetization, if its subscription they complain, if its an ingame shop they complain, its like they think devs has endless with money and should do all the work for free,

i havent played it in awhile, mostly becouse i think cozy and mmo wasnt a really good match, ion paper it sounds greate, in reality i got boored to fast, maybe i give it another try now, see whats new since last played it.

I notice every time someone asks for 'woke' to be defined, no one will.

Yeah, we know it means anything that isn't just straight white men, we just want to hear you say it out loud.
