Broken achievements?
In my run I got the Nine Tenths of the Law achievement (possess every object at least once). In that same run, I ran through the 4 houses twice, using every spook on every item (including duplicate items such as curtains, seats, etc). I did not get the Spice of Life achievement even though I did get the Nine Tenths of Law acheivement, meaning, I DID find every interactable items and made sure to use every spook, TWICE. I also had all the ghosts unlocked and used all of them (also spammed their emotes) and did NOT get the Next of Kin achievement. Is it bugged or am I doing something wrong?

Also, does the extra level factor into the achievements or not?

I'm having the same achievement issues. Kind of strange how the steam overlay doesn't show up either.

Same issue here. :(

So the achievements finally started to work for me and I easily got the rest of the achievements I weren't able to get after the first playthrough. Somehow the steam overlay had dissapeared, but it came back after restarting/reinstalling the game.

For the Next of Kin achievement I prioritized the unlockable characters until I had them all, then changed to every single one of them in an anti-clockwise fashion.

Everything else should be pretty straight forward, just remember to use all spooks on all items in the game, the achievment should pop up when you've achieved this feat. So you can keep a couple of people running around in a few levels while you make sure you spook everything in every room to prevent a level restart.

The extra level does not factor into the achievements.

Hmm.. do the spooks need to be performed on people or is it ok to use the spooks in an empty room

It's okay to use them in empty rooms.

I reinstalled the game. Spooked everything, didnt get achievement. Now trying to get the all ghosts achievement. I have them all unlocked and swapped between them all, still no achievement.

Can you bring up the steam overlay? I remember not being able to bring it up when I wasn't able to get any achievements. Try loggin in and out, right clicking the game in your library, go to properties, local files and then try vertifying integrity of game cache.
I really don't know what exactly caused my game to work again.

The first achievement I got after not being able to achieve anything was the friendly ghost achievement, maybe you could try going for that and see if it somehow changes things.

You can see a spook bonus counter for each level when completing the game, if it's not full, you've missed something. I remember having missed some spooks in the two buildings I had not spent as much time in.

Not sure if it made a difference but I even spooked duplicate items, like the theatre chairs.

It's better to be safe than sorry, so for my last try I left a few people wandering around in two of the houses so I didn't end the game early until I had used every spook. I went through every house again, room after room and by the last house I had used every spook.

Alright thanks I managed to get the spooks achievement, must have been missing something. What is the requirement for getting the next of kin acheivement though?

I got them all, swapped between them, used their emotes, used every single one to spook humans... what is it that I actually need to do? D:

EDIT: the steam overlay works, and I did get the spice of life achievement in this run, so achievements should be "working"... honestly it's so annoying not knowing whether the achievements are not working or if I am not doing things correctly.

So here's what I did, I started at the far left and worked my through to the rightmost house unlocking all unlockable character in each level while I was in them. I didn't complete any house, I prioritized the unlockable characters first.

When I had unlocked everyone I went back to the starting point of the game and changed to the ghost to the left and continued anti-clockwise till I was back at my starting character. I used everyone's personal spook once and I didn't leave the area or anything.

I did that.. anticlockwise, clockwise, with all houses still having people in them. Used everyone's emotes. Used every ghost to spook a human...

Guess it's just the game being weird... I'll try again some other time. I managed to get the friendly ghost achievement this run at least.

I didn't have to spook any humans with each character, I changed immidiatly to the next after pressing A on my controller to execute their "boo". Maybe it's timed?

I hear you, spending 18 hours on this game to unlock everything is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ insane for a game that should have taken me at most 3 hours. It was an infuriating process.

I got the next of kin achievement... went through the characters clockwise from 9PM, nothing happened... then anticlockwise from 3PM and it triggered. Not sure if the order had anything to do with it, but it worked at least.

What's left is the achievement for causing 10 jumpers. This is incredibly frustrating as the behavior of the people is completely unpredictable. I could scare them to a panic right next to a window and they wouldn't jump, opting to run around like a headless chicken, passing window after window without jumping and finally running out the door. Other times I'd panic someone nowhere near a window yet they'd make a beeline for a window and jump.

So I'm scratching my head on this one, is it just random? Put everyone in a panic and hope that the lords of randomness are with you? The best I've managed is 6 jumpers.

That achievement was probably the most infuriating, I was very lucky to get it on my third try though. Got most jumps in the Hospital and Museum buildings.

My first try I got 7 jumpers, second only 2, third: 10 with just 6 people left.

I wish you the best of luck. :clownghost:

Did you have any particular strategy?

EDIT: I cannot get anyone to jump in the Museum at all.

Scare them till they're sweating somewhat near a window, then spam whatever spook is closest to the window they're next to and hopefully they'll run and stop at one and throw themself out.
