Game won't start

I don't want to jump to conclusions and say that its necessarily the developer's fault, but I often find that the game won't even start up for me. I mean, I click the "play" button, wait a minute, and nothing happens. Steam will say "Game Running" next to the game's icon, yet a few seconds after it just stops. No matter how many times I click it, the game just doesn't start. I've found that I had to uninstall and then reinstall the game for it to work at all, and frankly that's just frustrating by the fourth or fifth time.

Has this happened to anyone else? Does anyone know if it's the a bug in the game or if it might just be my computer? Opinions would be helpful, as I plan to write a reveiw on this at some point and I wouldn't want to include this issue if it isn't the developer's fault.

Had it run on 5 different PC's/Laptops. Never had a problem like this.

What are your specs?
Did you try to view your running processes via the task manager? Was lambdawars.exe running and not stuck at that moment?
Also you might need to try reinstalling steam (backup your steamapps folder too).

I monitored it in task manager and the app doesn't even start up, so I'm starting to think it has something to do with steam itself on my particular computer.

Do other Source Engine games like Half Life 2 or Team Fortress start up?
Also try right-clicking the game, go to properties and select local files, then press the show game folder button, then try to run the lambdawars.exe file. (While doing this monitor the activity in your task manager).

Try launching the extension.

I tried launching it directly from the file folder, but that didn't work either. The game just doesn't start up when I click on it.

Yeah, from what I could tell, the game just didn't start sometimes. It seemed unique to Lambda Wars, as I've never had the same problem with other Source games before or since. But I haven't played the game for a while now, so I'll redownload it sometime and give it another try.
