I gave up my healer to the old man in village ???
So there is an old man that ask for merchant in the east side of the map, and I went to switch to merchant my healer and then realise that he would keep her, but by then the game already auto save. She already had master three jobs, is there anyway to get it back?

No, you lose your merchant permanently. Typically you just haul a level 1 merchant over there.

Anyway you could just Alt F4 to close the game and then reload it from the adventure log instead of continuing from the auto save.

The game makes it very clear that the merchant is going to stay in the village. It even asks you to confirm. Were you clicking too fast or not paying attention? Why would you class change a member of your regular party into a merchant anyway? How did you imagine that would help you?

LOL Yeah i screw up, and I had not save the game for awhile. Too bad I guess, is alright, one of my other characters is already sage, and can heal as well so is not a big deal.

As they re-released this game they added a way to get your character back and that change did make it into this version but it does take awhile. Just continue playing and check the town after each main event type deal you do, if you didnt go back and reload. Eventually your character will be finished there and ask to rejoin your party and head back to the pub to be rehired.

I reclassed my maxed-out thief to a merchant for this quest, but I did have the foresight to only do this after acquiring the other five other orbs. Otherwise just use an expendable merchant from the inn.

Yea on the NES the merchant was permanently gone but I'm pretty sure the remakes add an extra stage to the town that lets you get your merchant back.

Why would you ever need to do that to reload the adventure log? Just go back to the title screen and reload.

On the bright side there is a continuation to that story and if u are attached to that character that will only enhance the story :) so you probably gonna experience that bit different than people throwing level 1 merchant at it.
