Oh no that means whatever they wrote must be total lie right? Except you can bring up their stock chart yourself.
I deleted another post because it had info about them losing fans/money in the quarter before this, this is from four days ago, so yes, it's more recent and a better reflection that the company continues to spiral downwards in the most important metric for a company ... $$$
$$$ will talk and hopefully exorcise the woke virus.
It's just one of many reasons, they've been going downhill for a while, it's about time pressure starts being put on the board/chair from the stockholders themselves.
Yes, a drop in stock is definitely because they're "woke," not because the entire industry is in a downturn or because Q3 is always down or because this is just a periodic trough after their most profitable year ever.
2) Companies have failed for longer than DEI has been a thing.
3) The "issue" surrounding DQ3 (assuming you think it's an issue at all) relate to the ESRB.
Stocks go up and down all the time because they're volatile by nature. Square has been skewing down because they misfired on their biggest money-maker and their two big releases for the past quarter (not this week, the past quarter) underperformed.
Square's hurting right now for two reasons. Their Sony exclusivity deal means that consumers are not aligned on the release schedule for their big titles, and thus there are multiple marketing windows for the same title. And more importantly, their big cash cow (XIV) is not performing well at the moment due to a lack of enticing solo content and persistent DDoS attacks. Regulars are struggling to find reasons to log in and suspending their subscriptions. That's just the Pareto principle. I promise you, a Dragon Quest game's sales in the west were never, ever going to make a sizable dent no matter which way public opinion sways.
I agree to a degree, but square enix management decisions including hiring outside consultants is a big degree of why a lot of people will never support them again in any game. The forums show this, and it also show a large # of people who go into every single thread and post multiple times in defense.
Sunlight is a great disinfectant and drawing more attention to the censorship/dei that square has implemented is a way to let consumers decide for themselves if it's worth giving money to a company.
1. Sony, exclusivity deals are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ its major brands (KHIII, XVI) because the PS5 is a widely unpopular console. The marketing has to be done twice for both when they eventually come to other consoles as well.
2. FFXIV subs: this year has been a very active one for new games coming out so people are going to unsubscribe for a while in order to play those games. Dawntrail’s mixed reviews, constant attacks by DDOS and complainers attacking it downs help as well.
3. Mobile: SE has been focusing far too much on mobile stuff and releasing a lot, ignoring working franchises that they have.
If this were really where Square faltered, and it really made the difference you seem to think it's making, you could simply do nothing and not talk about it and the problem would solve itself. But instead, we keep seeing the same talking points about the same perceived problems from the same vocal minority, because these criticisms are overwhelmingly in bad faith and not actually about protecting an art form from a woke boogeyman.
You saw out the election went...being woke should be a choice and not forced on us. I'm still curious what is actually changed in this game that everybody is upset about seems to be getting good reviews. THanks.
KHIII wasn't Sony exclusive, it simultaneously launched on PS4 and Xbox One.
Oh okay.
I just did some googling and thought to contribute to this argument in way of some stuff.
Forspoken
Babylons Fall
Marvel's Avengers
Foamstars
Final Fantasy ( I bet we all know what i mean)
and probably way more.
And over 100+ Million Euros (One article i read went as far as saying 140 Million euros in project abandonment) in cancelled games.
I think if the rumors i heard about those games are true paint a picture. Feel free to google it. I made sure to use easy examples. And square only.
I only see people being annoyed at this.
I have now read a good chunk of the responses I didn't read and is it a trainwreck.
So what is wrong targetting a majority when running a business?
Companies exist to make profit. Demand is there for games, but not for games... that "offend" their player base. That's.... Lesson 1 in economics really. Supply and Demand. It's not rocket science. (Make a product your consumers want to buy not make one that makes them dislike you on principle.)
Well imma go back to life and all that. Imma keeping an eye on news for DQ III. I hope it turns around cause i don't want for it to just be a japan game. I still want Dragon Quest X for around here :/ And I still want a proper remake for Sentinels of the starry skies. So i am on the fence a bit here.
Wish ya all a good day.
