Are party members still male and female?

I shouldn't have to ask this, but Square Enix has been really, really disgusting with erasing female from games for the past few years. The DQ Builders mobile/PC port was removed female PC, and they removed it from DQ10 Offline before that.

What are you talking about? Dragon Quest Builders on mobile didn't remove female characters from the game.

Straight from the android version in character creation you can see them swap back and forth in the character creator between the male model and the female model.

Same with Dragon Quest X Offline. In this video of the Japanese version you can clearly see the female PC option.

To be more inclusive one would assume, but I'm sure you knew that. Everyone can relate to 'This look represents me' where not every can relate to 'male or female.' It's more interesting that you need the game to know what genitalia you have, for all the hardcore DQ3 love scenes I guess. I'm a cis male but it certainly doesn't hurt my soul to choose 'option A'

you can choose to play as male or female Arusu "Erdrick" and your party members can be of any class and gender choice just like the original. there will likely be gender specific classes as well just like the original if I remember correctly.
