In addition, there's a night every 6 minutes in the game, during night the bots don't see as far and wide as they normally do, that's your stealth moment.
Pick up a suppressed weapon at the armory, it keeps the area non-alerted when shot with as long as the enemy you're shooting at doesn't get to alert the place; bullet hits under non-alert are more deadly than otherwise.
Going far into enemy territory, you'll lack a nearby respawn point unless you specifically prepare for it. Use the spawn truck or the flares to have a closer checkpoint.
Stashes are spread around the maps; fill them with tactical gear such as vests, C4, flares to have stuff accessible when you're out there as you can't respawn with all items.
If you have a high rank, chances are you've got too large squad for an effective stealth mission. Disband some squadmates with page down key. You can also opt to have your squadmates wait to the side by positioning them with RMB when you're doing the mission, possibly calling them for backup when things go south.
A recon mission often precedes a stealth mission; hike your way through the enemy territory, check their bases out, get a feeling how well they're defending the places and what facilities do they have there. You could also consider capturing one of those less defended bases by calling in reinforcements.
Moreover, the 10th and final map in the current campaign is basically one big stealth mission, you're alone against plenty of enemies.
And newer people or those looking for more action will tend to stay with the main front and help new people too. I commonly switch back and forth during all battles from both groups during any given map. Sometimes a Tank Commander helping the Spearhead, running a support mg and just laying cover frirer for the troops, and other times I'm there with a few others sneaking around destroying targets with C4 and taking points with patients and paratroopers. Any map at any time. It's one of the things that makes RWR awesome!
Obviously these smaller Stleath teams aren't manditory to take a map, but it is fun to do. There is a new Final Battle Stealth Map, and it is fun. But you can Stealth at ANY TIME on any map. Actually there are frequent times I sneak around the front line, and get myself up on to roof tops and pick people off with a sniper (try the silenced pistol as your 2ndary) or an mp5sd while hidden. It helps to cause a diversion so frontline forces may get a chance to move up to you.
Anyway, you can Stealth at any time. And using some caution when moving up to the front helps to ensure you get shot in the face a lot less. Also one of the first things people take a time to learn is at what distance from the front to start using a bit of caution. Honestly ALL of us have spent our ffair share of time getig shot in the face for running too hard right into the actual battle line.
