Prepar3D IS NOT A GAME, and Xplane X.X.X is not agame.. there both Traning tools. and Techically regardless if you have the FAA licences ,, there both FAA approved... the only real diffrences is the cost of the licence..
Xplane 11 FAA (Professional Use License) is $750 USD (Digital liecences)
Xplane 11 FAA (Professional Use License) is $775 USD (USB Key)
Xplane 10 FFA (Professional Use License with Projection Support (USB Key) $1495 USD
P3D v4.x Professional Plus License (FAA) 2300$ USD
also u don't need any 3rd party free or payware ad-ons,
Xp11 is absoultly awesome with just a Rift and motition controls well keep the FPS about 90fps (VR) requires a constaint 90FPS or else you see "lag" and most likly get motition sickness..
Rift and Vive are both 90hz for there display so u need to maintain and hold 90 fps in Sim
If you use joinFS there won't be any difference whatsoever in your system performance, since you're flying in a peer-to-peer environment, so to speak, *and* you can fly with simmers that are using X-Plane 11, FSX, FSX:SE, and P3D. The best part is that join FS is *free* and doesn't require any for of registration. Once you install and run joinFS you'll be able to see who is online and flying; just look for joinFS hosting sites. :-D
As far as paying out money for add-ons in XP-11, earlier posts mentioned the *enormous* amount of quality freeware available to you, e.g., aircraft, scenery, detailed airports, terrain mesh, sound files, etc--all to be had at X-Plane. org and other pertinent sites.
With the exception of a few payware aircraft, I haven't spent a lot of money getting my X-Plane 11 experience to the level of realism (I'm a real-world pilot) that satisfies me. I do intend on going VR in the near future, and doing so will put me in a *very* happy place. :-D
Happy flying!
