Here's an image I found on YouTube of the level I am on http://imgur.com/Mu4O1bP
vs what I see in the same level http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=722800863
Did anyone manage to fix it? Its pretty difficult to play it in this state.
UPDATE: It seems to be caused by HD graphics being enabled. After turning it off in the graphics menu it looks like this http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=722810458
If you deactivate HD graphics, the game does not look 1080p anymore but gets brighter. However, if you deactivate HD graphics, restart the game, reactivate HD graphics, restart the game, you have BOTH 1080p and brighter backgrounds.

Yeah i know that feel, but this is the only solution that i know. It's suck, when i try to finish the levels quickly, and then i need to restart, because of this...lot of my runs died, because this problem.
It's true this game is really luck based,i don't like either. When i start speedrunning this game from 10 attempts,3 always buggy(Dark Background,Crash)and i don't like either...but somehow i can't hate this game,i don't know why, maybe because of the good memories that game bring to me.I hope If Frogmind fix these and this game can be really good in Speedrunning.
I don't know if this game is good enough for speedrunning, because the real good runners are confident and will score well, but there are too many surprises in this game to make it worth speedrunning.
Think of it as similar to how we walk outdoors. We don't look right below us at what we're about step on or trip over. We pick it out a few dozen paces ahead of us, then mostly ignore it when we get there. By that time we're scanning the next stretch of path or sidewalk up ahead.
I never gave this much thought until I had to teach a child how to walk sensibly in the city. I always assumed it was just something we do naturally. I also sucked at Badland. I still suck at it, but now I know why, and occasionally I can figure out what to do about it.
