The reasons I uninstalled the game and will never return.

I had played as a Stromwever Sorceror for almost 70 hours before reaching the End game. I never played POE 1, so I'll talk about POE 2 only. I cannot say that the current game is good or bad. I enjoy the campaign but dislike several features of the game. So these are my thoughts.

1.NO Free Re-spect: Re-spect is extremely expensive. As a sorcerer, I am excited to experiment with various builds. I played without a guide until about halfway through the game. But I've died a lot, i mean A LOT, with no defense built. I switched to the Meta build with a large mana tank. And I hope to try new build later. Sadly, I cannot. Re-spect is extremely expensive. So I will stuck with this build, maybe forever. I can't think of any good reason to force the player to stick with the build indefinitely. The first bad design. And it gets worse when some builds are nerfed or buffed.

2. Too RNG: Many builds require a certain piece of equipment; if you're lucky, you can get to the build you want quickly; if not, you'll have to wait for the item whenever and wherever it is. While Exalted can be farmed and traded to get the gear, In my opinion, this design is really bad. I would rather kill some boss thirty times if there was a way to obtain that specific gear.

3. Honor system: Why does the game punish players for Tanky builds? I tried playing melee for a few hours and realized right away that it was going to be bad. The only viable builds for this system are Meta or DPS builds. I don't see this as a problem if it's a mechanic in the endgame that you can avoid. However, bringing this stupid system to the Ascendancy point, which everyone requires, is simply terrible.

4. Death punishment: There are variety of mechanics for death punishment, such as losing some exp, currency, and restarting the fight. While it is understandable. As a player, I REALLY HATE having to clear stupid mobs over and over again. Especially when combined with the honor system or Trial of Chaos, where you can lose the key item as well as 1 or 2 hours of extensive fighting for a single mistake. Oh, and if you want to build differently to complete the trial, good luck with the Re-spect cost and RNG item drop. Keep the death penalty, but please don't force players to do chores they dislike repeatedly.

The game was at least worth my money, though I hoped have spent 100 hours++ on it, as I did with some other games (Sekiro, Monster Hunter, BG3). But for now, enough is enough.

I hoped to find a "nice" discussion regarding the game, particularly its design and mechanics. This forum turned out to be something else. Genuinely sorry about that.

Yeah, I wouldn't expect major overhauls. You're right, the devs have a vision and it's unlikely there well be any fundamental shifts (such as around how you grind gear, it's literally in their company name).

That being said, they'll probably make small adjustments over the months that will lead to some larger changes in the long run. For instance, the tweak to the honor mechanic is pretty conservative and there very well could still be an outcry of criticism with going forward leading to further changes. I have a feeling the overall balance will be fairly different by 1.0.

If I were to guess, GGG is just starting out with a game in its most punishing state they felt they could get away with to appease their hardcore base so that after rolling back certain pain points the game retains some of the difficulty they originally envisioned.

It feels like how Chris always wanted POE 1 to be. He was shut down time after time after time in all his suggestions to make the game far harder and more punishing. He HATED the fact that people were speed-running the campaign in 4 or 5 hours.

It seems they let him off the leash on this one.

I like not screen clearing with one mouse click.

But how about not make A3 such a slog. A1 and A2 were near perfect. Count Gooner is my top ARPG boss, the music and banter were banging.

You paid to play. If the game has issues (clearly it does) then why wouldn't players have the right to voice their opinions about it?

You don't understand that commonwealth English exists? Hate to break it to you but the US didn't invent the language. If we want to be technical YOU are spelling it wrong from its original spelling that was brought over.

It is indeed spelt correctly, its pronounced exactly the same, and the English language literally breaks its own rules all the time, because it developed from an amalgamation of languages.

1.They literally just released patch note for the up coming patch and they are cutting
respec prices in half.

2. This will also be balanced over time with each patch because you know early access.

3. This is also getting fixed in the upcoming patch. There were bugs causing honor to drain to fast and they are also nerfing a few things within the trials.

4. I also hate clearing mobs again when I die. lol
