game FREEZES my PC
only restart button works
any workaround? i played for 8hours and made it to desert, and this @@@@ started.
got 3 crashes and stopped playing this bug mess.

Did you just update windows?
My problems started after me updating my windows.
So I reverted back to the previous version and after that I could play all night yesterday.
Maybe it worked maybe it didn't.

There are youtube vids that can explain better than me how it's done.

Very few people are having crashes and if yours are happening AFTER you've already been playing then likely something changed on your system.

The game didn't just start hating you.

I think you've identified the problem.

Roll back your update.
Yes, it started right after their update 1 with some "fixes" as they said, game litteraly FROZE my pc, it NEVER happend before with any other game!!!

No, i have 7800x3d \ 4090 \ 32 gb ram \ ssd \ windows 11 (never updated it since a year ago or so)...

Vulkan instead of DIrectx12 in graphic options fixed most of the crashes on my pc. You can try this (changing the option caused a crash but it worked fine afterwards).

Thats hillarious =))) i tried it and it made a crash to me as well right in the moment of changing to vulcan ))))

OMG the game has so much bugs... i think im done for now

did you alt tab during gameplay? this cause my PC to freeze on loading screen if i alt tabbed.

No. I just entered the character menu and pressed play, then freeze.
Also i managed to get through it to caravan and then changed location and had freeze.
I had around 4 freezes and it completele broke me to play farther, it started as i entered desert region.
I think the second act is super bugged right now and can brake your PC. BE AWARE! =)

I’m experiencing the exact same issue. My PC completely freezes, and only the restart button works. This has only happened with this game—it’s never occurred with any other game or program before.

Here’s my setup:

Lenovo Legion 5 Pro 16ach6h
RTX 3060
Ryzen 5 5600H
32GB RAM
Windows 11 Pro (version 24H2)
It’s really frustrating since I’ve also put several hours into the game. Hopefully, they address this soon!

Yeag mate, same...
I do have windows 11 home 23 or something edition.
I do accounted thes TERRIBLE freezes only in act 2, its broken

there are around 350 - 400 pages of reports for this exact issue on the poe2 forums. We need to wait until they addressed it.

Was getting crashes and disabled Nvidia overlay and it all stopped.
