witch nerf coming in next patch
well I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Arsonist build is no longer viable unless you already have full ascendancy and 500 spirit on standby. Time to look into a new class I guess. Thanks GGG - Really appreciate it.

Sad to see the nerf for minions, but what really pi@@es me off is the fact that 90% of the minions dont / wont fit through door ways / tight alleys, going between rocks and debris on the floor. Seeing them stand there watching me fight and doing nothing.

It's not a nerf to minions.

They're simply making the Arsonist cost the same spirit upkeep as all the other mage skeletons.

That's all.

Some people will just exaggerate the change as a massive nerf to everything because all they're doing is copying and pasting the latest OP meme build they pulled off Reddit and Streamers.

If you don't use Arsonists in your witch build, then literally nothing is being nerfed for you. In fact if you read the rest of the pre-patch note announcement you'll see they mention they're actually buffing certain aspects that will apply to the Witch pretty well.

But that doesn't mean we haven't been looking at underpowered skills and support gems. We’ve got a number of changes planned which should improve some of these skills. The full list of changes will be in the patch notes but here is a sample of what you can expect.

Improvements to Rolling Slam and all Shield Skills in the Mace section.

Improvements to various Bow Skills, especially the skills used to generate Frenzy Charges.

Improvements to Bone Spells and Chaos Damage over Time Spells in the Occult section.

Improvements to various Crossbow Skills, especially those at higher Tiers.

Improvements to some of the underachieving Quarterstaff abilities.

My already very viable ED/Contagion minion Witch build for example is likely to become a little stronger from the upcoming changes, though how much of a change I'll see with my particular build we'll have to see the patch notes to tell.

But of course, dramallamas don't want to think "Hey maybe other builds can be better now" all they see is "The build I'm ripping off from Reddit won't be so idiot proof now and I might have to wait for someone to post a new build for me copy, so I'm going to cry out that GGG just nerfed the Witch as a entire class".

Less minions (which i use) cost more to summon= less minions less damage = nerf
And no mention of the very models they use that don't fight the game they designed.
Its the not fitting through doors ways, standing behind me doing nothings , their pathing sucks

Mate it's like a 40% nerf to the damage of the only truly viable minion. That's a pretty huge nerf and people are right to be pissed about it when arsonist clear speed is pretty ♥♥♥♥ on anything but open maps of which there are few.

Too many low tier players commenting on people annoyed by the nerf is my take. Like the guy saying he's 60+ lol. Until you're doing endgame maps and see how absolutely awful pet AI/Pathing can be on these maps you're just talking out of your ass. Any decent build clears at least as fast as arsonists and probably twice as fast in the crap layouts. Any I'm pretty sure 99% of builds have more visual clarity to avoid the ground effect shotgun deaths.

That said I'd happily trade a few less arsonists (I have 490 spirit and run 13 + 2 clerics, grim feast and blink) for some bloody minion QoL. Less getting stuck on doors, a bit more movement speed so they aren't perpetually left behind. Less arsonists bombs hitting random ass scenery and doing 0 damage. Sadly we're getting none of that and just taking a massive damage loss.

The map designers obviously were going for realistic designs instead of ARPG viable ones since every damn map has chokepoints and tight corridors. The infernal dog can't even get through a ton of the doors and you end up leaving your entire minion army behind because the devs decided it's better to kill the minions and invoke the respawn delay than to give us convocate,

EA kiddo, what did you expect? The big nice corpos to hold your hands and help you make sissies? Them to cater to your build alone? only buff things and ignore broken min/max builds that defeat entire spirit of PoE games?

Only yourself to blame for relying on a crutch with these games when you have so many options with a build, let alone one of the most op and broken things in any arpg ever: unlimited dodge rolls.

what a smooth brain comment. it's not a nerf, it's a spirit cost balance with the other minions. if that makes your build 'no longer viable' then you better get used to it. GGG will be balancing gems for the entire lifespan of the game.

This was big deal with cof comet nerf for my frost chrono. After nerf, frost was left with nothing. Frostbolt and eye of winter are trash, and they left it in trash basicaly bricking that characters. Mages are now fueled to manastacking stormweavers and thats somehow "balanced".

Or i have tried to make flicker strike monk just to find out its kinda pointless. However i build it, switching flicker strike to falling thunder gives me like 10x better results.

There is no balance and i havnt seen single patch that tries to actualy balance things. There are OP things untouched since day 1, theres alot of trash skills/spells also being absolutly ignored. So its weird to see them nerfing minions that are just "kinda good" into "uninteresting average stuff" like there are not gigantous mamoths in the room with skeletons.

flicker strike is just fine and not particulary hard to build for so that's completely a skill issue on your part

How is it "nerfed" exactly? They brought arsonist skeletons up to the same level of cost as other skeletons.

Plus.. if you're playing a summoning build you actually got "Added the Bidding Support Gem. Which can be used to give more damage to the Command Skills of Supported Minions"

So unless you're playing some broken set of skills that makes you far too OP (and you'd know it) then what nerf are you talking about?

flicker strike is just fine and not particulary hard to build for so that's completely a skill issue on your part

Yes, im bad, im crying and blaming devs... I have 5 chars on maps and im bad just cuz you had some random dream or whatever...

Thing about flicker strike is, theres no reason to use it. Its not like its hard to make build for it, its about changing it for falling thunder makes it better. Always. And thats problem.

You mean like exactly what they've said they're doing in the same patch you're screeching about?

Bone and chaos spells are getting buffed, among other things. That's a direct buff compensating for the nerf to arsonists.

Also, if arsonists were OP enough for meta-kiddies to be hinging their entire build around them, it sounds like the nerf was well deserved.
