Clean your machine, take out all the dust and hair and stuff. Check your drivers and etc, the PC shutting down during a game is an indication of a more serious problem.
A few things.

Not the game that is the cause per se.

Could be your PSU, which is the usual reason but not always.

Could be tripping a protection in the BIOS falsely, which is sometimes fixed by updating the BIOS.

2-3 RGB programs fighting for control in the BIOS which can trigger a shutdown.

That's just a few things to look into.

ok thanks will have to look into it.
If you don't have a program for your gpu to monitor it..press ctrl/alt/del and go to task manager and then click on performance. You can measure your cpu usage and gpu usage as well as the temperature they are getting to. Run POE2 in borderless window and while the game is running do this to see what your temps are. Chances are you are overheating your gpu and it just needs repasted on the heatsink. I say this cuz POE2 blew my old psu and when I got my new gpu it was way overheating. took it apart cleaned it put fresh paste and haven't had an issue since. Good luck.
Hey, OP, I'mma give you the real reason! Everyone else is wrong!

It's this game. No other games do this, right? It's this game. Trust your gut.

guts know more than experts ? interesting.

had the same issue. it started with poe 2 then eventually ended up happening in other games. bios update / driver roll back (nvidia gpu 4090) to 566.36. those were only temporary fixes. it came back. what ended up being my issue was the 12VHPWR cable. it was from cable mod. had it for 2 years before the issue started. i used the adapter that came with my gpu and psu cables and its been running fine ever since. the cable from cable mod looks fine. no visible damage. i dont fault them. and ordered a replacement.
Same as you OP. only on POE 2 and only when 0.2 came out, this last one 0.2f improved a bit the time it takes to shutdown.
Ryzen 5900x and a 3080
GPU fans will increasingly speed up until the GPU temp shuts the PC down.
Its not dust or any s*** like that dont loose your time, it just needs a patch or two.
problem is windows 11
u need win 10 for normal gameplay. there is a "fix to not crash the whole pc" ... instead the game closes.. go to Taskmanager-> details->poe2-> remove 1 core of your cpu from the game . then it only crashes the game because ur left with 1 core always on win 11.

Spontaneous reboots is most often due to PSU issues. How old is it? GPU also might be crashing due to heat but that generally doesn't mean reboots.

PoE is demanding an unusually high amount of CPU power, so it is possible that your CPU cooling is insufficient and your CPU is simply overheating and PC's usually shut down if that happens to protect your CPU. But that was just why my PC shut down while playing PoE, there certainly are a few more possible reasons.

But most of the reasons usually have your PC as the culprit, since usually the OS is designed in a way to make it impossible for (ring 3) programs to randomly make your PC shut down, so it's usually some kind of a hardware issue or a problem with your OS or drivers. Though shutting down in an instant without any error message usually means it's a hardware problem.

You can run stress test apps and see the max temp and power draw your PC can handle. E.g Prime95 AVX Small FFTs and Futuremark running while watching youtube and video files from your drives to suck up as much power. PC goes poof, means hardware problems.

Either it's heat or not enough power. If heat(, upgrade cooling system or renew the thermal paste and cap fps. If power, upgrade to a higher watt rated PSU or check if your cables are actually supplying the power, for example 2x8 pins, one of the 8 pins is loose or not working, literally halving your rated power supply to the GPU.
