End Game Dying
This is terrible. I am a casual gamer, I have time to play, and deaths are so frustrating. I quit playing yesterday when I had time because I died to silly things 3 times in a row, and I said enough and logged off. Tonight I have time to play, and once again, died to silly things 3 times over about 40 minutes, and I am done...at least for the night. I have friends that have already stopped playing and I am nearly there myself.

Yes, I can get better as a player, but the lack of found gear, the lack of an in game AH, losing exp when you die to something dumb, as well as having to restart the map and use another waystone, I am over it.

I get that none of this is likely to change. I love the game for the most part and can look past everything other than the cost of death.

Gears are good to rely on but don't take it to seriously like mine unless you are really rich.

You should focus on building with good building even casual player kills boss like an insect.
So,get to the problem ? what's your status and your class ?

A lot of folks here are willing to help ,just skip the complaining phase and accept the truth that you were doing something wrong back there.

well this is a early access game, you can't expect many updates on it, since POE1 player also complaning the devs taking too many company resources to develop/update this game, so you need to wait for its full release (which also a bigger problem for POE1)

One tip for new/casual players that I don't see enough of is the fact that players should be aiming to max all their resistances (other than chaos) by the time they reach endgame. Res is the main stat you need to be looking for until they're maxed out. Look at all other stats as nice bonuses until you have max res.

Not sure if this is your issue OP, but that seems like a lot of dying. Especially if you're in the early endgame.
I disagree, playing this game all the way to endgame made me appreciate Grim Dawn so much more, leveling up, getting gear upgrades, always progressing, crafting, target farming, legendary transmutation, no insta die puddles, great quick responsive dash, challenging gameplay that is absent in poe2. Sad really but good news is Grim Dawn has an expansion coming out soon, but a big thanks to poe1.5, as we wouldn't know whats right without whats so glaringly wrong.
exp loss isnt a thing till 70, you dont sound like youre 70
You're not losing EXP on death. I promise you. You're probably not even in cruel yet, let alone level 70 to lose XP.

Every other tip combined isn't even close to how common "cap your resist" is.

go back to a level where you can comfortably farm while not dieing and grow from there. . .

or go play D4's new season and get showered in so much loot that you complain that you cant filter "garbage ancestral legendaries" all the while breezing through the entire game with no danger at all.

the choice is yours, I am betting you will pick option two. . .

:exalted:

P.S. it took me 13:48 hours played to complete the D4 season journey. . .never died once.
P.P.S playing Sorc, the class every D4 player agrees Blizzard messed up and gimped hard in the balance patch at season start. . .

P.P.P.S my wife who is the epitome of a casual player is 20 hours in to D4 and is already complaining that she is bored, her character has also never died. I had to sleep on the couch because my response was "at least I aint bored in PoE"

The good loot drops are so insanely rare, you feel like it is the ultimate boring slog. You don't feel a sense of satisfying progression.
Yup is a slog
and even if you upgrade a weapon, can't use it cause OUT OF MANA
get an armour drop , cant wear it cause , resists will get messed up.

There is no point to playing the game right now.

Game is good for 100 hours. Gotta come back in a year or so when they add more stuff.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but the elites can get affix combinations that will still delete you even with maxed res, the game is unbalanced as ♥♥♥♥ right now.

I've hit elites that can delete me from off screen before I can even react to their attack. 90% of the time it simply because the game has decided to give them affixes that alone are survivable but together just global you through ES, Evasion, Armour and any resistances you have capped.

The damage output from some is nuts and even GGG has admitted the balance is in need of serious correction. They know people are having a ♥♥♥♥ time with POE2 right now but as usual they just don't have enough devs to fix it fast enough and maintain POE1.

my guess is right now they are waiting till they have an economy fix ready to go and enough players are ready for a wipe with a new EA season.

This solves little, just keep smacking your head against that wall son, youll break through eventually.

Like sticking your head in the sand and hoping the issue will go away because you cant see them.

Nope, this is on GGG to fix, and yes they even admitted ♥♥♥♥ is broken right now.

I understand your frustration. You are doing content above your character 's capabilities. Either your build is not good enough or you are undergeared.

As for the other issues I totally agree. Auction house is needed, so we can sell items offline.
I have a few tabs of good items for sale but I have to take precious gaming time to trade it to people. I don't want to role-play as an NPC vendor.

Nah, that's not the case. Getting 75% elemental resistances is pretty easy and cheap. Can be done on fresh character as soon as you reach end-game. You can gear with resi items for 1exalt each. By the time you reach end-game you should have 10-20 exalts just from the campaign. Then socket them with resi runes and you are there. That's the priority number 1.
