I mean.. this type of thing happens all the time, and not just limited to games like this. People want the easiest way out with the biggest gains, so they try to lie and scam and fradulently earn what they have.

Its nothing new unfortunately, just blacklist, report in game, and report on TFT for more visibility

The trade system atm is kind of jank, and PoE1 never had chinese players because they were on a seperate server, so there is whole new dynamic and cultural influx into the way the trade market works. It is absolutely highlighting the necessity for a market system, and/or instant transaction from stash system. It would cut the player interaction out of the market instability, as well as the general game disruption when having to trade. Player trades should only be required for things such as Mirror Crafts etc.

raising the price of a item is a poe1 staple.

Well i mean if yo have the B/O set its one thing but the exact price they list and it seem to be bots cuz never answer and ppl get spammed? like i get 2 insta gold seller whisper when i try to buy from there after awhile

Almost everyone posting an item worth 3+ exalts, often uniques, for 1 exalt are trolling and will ignore you, or they're bots trying to run an algorithm to set prices. You should adjust minimum price on the search.

frankly, i think it is just poe2 is bigger than poe1 and attracted a lot of noobs. i never have scam problems in poe1.

It is common sense that if you get DM'd by dozens of people after putting your item on sale that you priced the item way too low and thus raise the price to brign it closer to its regular price. And when you get DM's by dozens of people you also don't want to have to write to every single one of them that your item already got sold. And sometimes they're also busy running maps, and so far I noticed that in PoE2 it is very easy to not notice a DM because they're way less obvious than they were in PoE1 where they were way louder.

And in my several years of PoE1 trading and the big of PoE2 trading I never really encountered an outright scam where someone tried to sell me a completely wrong item. Sure, when I asked for a map they sometimes gave me a very similar map instead, but that's mostly because the difference is usually not relevant. But I really never met someone who tried to outright scam me.

I still dont understand why GGG has not put a market into the game. They already went to the half way mark and implemented currency exchange, just go the last step and put in the market.
No more annoying website, no more annoying DMing people and dealing with no responses, potential scams.

Yeah, I want an in-game market system where you put an item you want to sell, set a price, and then just forget about it, no need to wait inside the game until somebody DM you for it.
I did a test.
I pretended not to know anything about trading in this game so I went to google and typed in "Path of Exile 2 buy trade items" and all the recommended results was sponsored links to shady gold farmer sites.
The official GGG site that you are supposed to use was not sponsored and hidden deep down in the results.

But hey, if you make a game where you are forced to trade with others this behaviour is expected.
Just look at the prices on the official site, and that is for stuff that will be useless when leagues starts.

Most of the first listed on the POE 2 trade for a lot less than everyone else is a person undercutting and buying up all of that to re sell.
lots of people need to be removed from the gene pool. The ones scamming in games are just going to be touching crypto when they're a bit older
Unfortunately you give people an inch they'll take a mile. I don't care how good the Poe community was before this is a different game, Add a In game trade system and call it a day.
People will not like this though but the other option is to completely remove trading and buff drops (not talking about quantity but quality)
