Path of Exile 2

Path of Exile 2

Act 2 Game Crash
Hello, I've been experiencing game crash when going into the desert location of the 1st task where they ask you to kill hyena demons(?)
It happens after a checkpoint, where there are a lot of hyenas standing.I've experoiienced it multiple times, rebooted pc and everything, and it still happens, so I'm unable to continue a game

Has anyone experienced this bug?

Have you tried changing from DirectX12 to Vulcan?

Also, are you getting a hard crash (PC freezes up) or soft crash (takes you to desktop)?
same ♥♥♥♥. tried deleting the shader cache, clearing the shader cache, lowering shadow options, restarting steam, verified files integrity. This is supreme ... crap. On my PC it actually shows 3 FPS (down from 60 usually) and huge shader usage .... Unoplayable at this stage. what to do?

Is your entire PC freezing up, or are you crashing to desktop? There are MULTIPLE different crashes happening right now. Each one requires a different approach.

Nah. Changed to Vulkan - did the same thing but a bit later. I was able to start a fight, but it still soft crashed.

If you're getting the error "failed to create resource for texture" try switching from DirectX12 to Vulcan in the Setting (if you are able to make it that far).

If you get NO ERROR CODE, just a flat out crash to desktop, then I don't know what causes that. Some possible answers:

-If you have Windows 11 Version 24H2 then there is currently a problem with this version that causes crashing in some games (not just PoE2). You can revert back to a previous version if you are able to. If not, then you need to wait until Microsoft sends out an update.

-Update drivers

-Check Event Viewer to see what information pops up. Search > type Event Viewer > click on Applications > look for 'Error' messages, ones with something relating to Path of Exile 2 in them.

sadly no message, just flat crash. Drivers updated.

I;ve managed to finish fight with hyenas, but as soon as I walk up to pack leader, game crashes. Sad.

Thank you for your help!
