bug/fix? relating hard crashes
as someone who has been one of the unlucky few who have been having pc crashes due to game it had became very frustrating and apparent that i may not be able to play this game, no one wants to risk or compromise their hardware from hard lock ups like these, not saying it can happen but it still doesn't feel good (i can hear it cry when it happens ;*) ).

Why did i find it frustrating? well mainly because my system is more than the recommended specs and I have ran higher intense CPU and GPU games in the past on this system.

As anyone would I tried to trouble shoot and figure out why this was occurring.

Attempt 1: verified game files - nothing still happens
Attempt 2 : double checked my drivers encase of corruption, reinstalled/updated - nothing still happens
attempt 3: forums research . many stating that its a windows update issue perhaps some reporting 24h2 was causing crashes but not 23h2 , I reverted in hopes and tried - still nothing crashes the same
attempt 4: back to forums , reading about people going into task manager and disabling core 0 and core 1 on the game , no way in hell mi trying that. Also reading about people downloading some app to limit cpu usage to 99%?. after reading stuff like this im thinking maybe I have a CPU issue perhaps? so I go into task manager and check it doesn't seem overly high? 43%CPU maybe it spikes to 100% when in loading screen? So I started nuking tasks and other background things to limit my CPU usage such as many of plugins on my web browser that seemed to be taking up CPU usage .

reinstalled game launched ive gotten 2 crashes in about 20 hrs now ive been able to actually play and enjoy the game now . Dont know what fixed it but have idea. I dont know try stuff like I did and hopefully it ll work for you

Might be unrelated, But perchance have you checked for a bios update for your motherboard, As your cpu might be affected by the intel voltage issues of late ?

Try running it in Vulcan and see if that helps.

So you haven't fixed/found solution because you still get crashes

1. Remove ShaderCache from %APPDATA%/Path of Exile 2. 2. Disable 0 an 1 core

the game is not crashing, it is freezing there is a difference. the cause for the freeze is for some bizarre reasons during loading screen the game would peg all cores to 100% and robs the operating system of all CPU resources. Ifyou use a program like Process Lasso (free) you can unbind the game process from 2 cores and windows will still be responding and you can kill the game via task manager, for some this even is a working fix and the game no longer freezes until the devs can actually fix it, for me it only allows me to close the client without hard resetting the PC

If you reserve 2 cores for system, how are the rest of the cores pegged and freeze?

So the game causes the freezing, not the System.

I think we need a Windows 11 update to fix the hard freezing.

being able to play for 10hrs straight vs not making it past a single loading screen is a fix to me big guy, thanks for the comment.
