Path of Exile 2

GGG needs to remove %inc rarity from gear ASAP
I hope this is one of the changes that happens before the game launches. Rarity is a stupid multiplier of loot that shouldn't exist. Make the game harder and drop better loot. Rarity encourages degenerate trash mob clear playstyle that really shouldn't be a thing in this game.

The game doesn't have rarity, colors show how many affixes/suffixs (aka stats) the item will have. Uniques being the odd one out due to being basically static items mostly.

Most gear is crap anyway. The color doesn’t matter, those prefixes, base stats and suffixes do. Those determine if your gear is good or not

That is literally not true, what lol. You can have a rare item with 2 lines (which by your logic, is reserved for magic/blue items), or a magic item with 0 lines (rog crafting for instance, which by your logic should be white).
The OP is talking about magic find, the affix for increasing the rarity of items and currency dropping on the ground. It is a huge issue right now, one of the top threads on reddit and a lot of large POE content creators are complaining about it wanting the stat removed or changed.

What are you taking about? Increased Rarity is literally something you can craft on most gear pieces.

Actually it does have a point, it’s fine for early game to give you a splash of currency to you know.. do things. The issue is really at giga endgame where currency drops like candy even without rarity on gear

Its more of a rule of thumb when dealing with the colors, some items are a bit odd but generally those aren't equipment.

Personally I don't run any mf my self, view it as a useless stat, still get plenty of drops, currently running tier6 waystones.

A white item is just as good as a yellow item imo, they both can be god items when worked with, just the yellow item needs less currency.

You two are confused. Rarity on gear is a thing you can have. That's the problem. I'm not arguing that the game shouldn't give you loot bro...

Wait till you get to endgame. Then reconsider if you want a harder game.

Item rarity on gear is stupid. I agree.
Juicing your maps should be the only source of MF.

I have a friend who has a MF set + Gravebind gloves. We escort him around the map and hes somehow slower than that Ultimatum statue escort. Worst freakin thing ever but everyone feels its worth it. I hate it.

I'm not making a stance on balancing the game difficulty. I'm just saying MF being mandatory (it's always mandatory if it's good) is bad for the health of the game.

I'm not confused at all, I literally agreed with you, I was replying to the first people in your thread, the second half of my paragraph literally says you are talking about magic find and not rarity of items. Re-read what I said.
