And yes you will be squisher if you don't have maxed evasion to begin with bc it lowers your overall evasion rating.
Well it halves your evasion rating. You need to overlevel evasion it before you take it.
evasion percentage has no actual meaning. The percentage is just an indicator of how evasion might work against a regular mob of your level in the area you are in.
Evasion actually checks the enemy precision rating. So you need to know every boss rating and build evasion accordingly.
To make it short, as long as we don't have a working path of building to plan numbers against specific encounters, there is no way to accurately make acrobatics work.
I already got 24k eva with tailwind/acro, but still been one shotted by mobs quite often. Its just tried to dodge all hits and not just melee, poe2 mobs is quite annoying with out of sudden appear

It's mostly good if you are fine with dodge rolling AoEs and Slam attacks. It's quite nice that you can roll attacks or even traps that would usually hit you.
However here is the issue with evasion: Everytime you evade a hit a random number between let's say 10-50 will be added to the evasion equation meaning that the more you evade the higher the chance is that you get hit and, ultimately, you WILL get hit no matter what. This number is removed after 6 seconds out of combat or smth like that, not sure.
So yea idk not a fan of evasion cuz of that mechanic. If my non-native scuffed explanation didnt explain it well just look at it on the wiki that's also where I found this info in the first place.
Because english.
You CAN evade all hits. You don't evade all hits. The evasion roll is still happening. It's just that now you have the chance to evade any hit, not just single target hits (becasue by default evasion only works on single target hits).
The main other source of hits besides single target hits (melee or projectile) is aoe hits. The passive helps with evading aoes.
