Game is ok, but not poe.
its much closer to dark souls, everything is extremely tanky/healthy and takes forever to kill.

Late game might be different, but not being able to kill things quickly is a big bummer.

Oh look, another twitterbrain type with his "it's dark souls guys, I never played that and I have no clue, but people keep saying it so I'll say the same".

Meanwhile as per typical ARPG, common mobs will die in one strong attack or 2-3 weaker AoE ones.

I've been playing souls games since you were in diapers I assure you lmao. They quite literally took inspiration from the souls series, why wouldn't they?

Because PoE was never a souls game. I played both and it's the same except PoE2 is more of an improvement. Just cause it has a checkpoint system doesn't make it a souls game. Is Kingdom hearts a souls game? I did notice I started to do more damage once I got a weapon that increased my skill's level. Take time to learn what to do to get more damage. Like how people whined about Dynasty Warriors Origins being hard when they don't understand the Morale mechanics. Game just came out and you expect to be given a handicap? Yeah, you play souls game. Probably look up a build to bulldoze your way through it like 74% of the people who play souls game.

I dunno. As a warior I oneshot everything. Some bosses are a bit tanky.

This isn't PoE, its not even close to PoE 1 honestly, its a completely different game (which I like)

It feels like you think you said something smart here. A lot of people recognize that this game took heavy inspiration from souls.

Yeah, if you have a strong enough spell in Elden Rings, you can one shot mobs of common monsters. Is Elden Rings an ARPG? It's also extremely slow, just like this game.

PoE was easy mode. Thank the gods this isn't PoE.

We love Dark Souls around here.

I mean, thank god it didn't get the Overwatch 2 treatment by being the same game, right?

Not sure why it is much closer to DS because of that. Also it's the same case in PoE when you don't know what you are doing. So it's not PoE but it is?

Having bosses means it's dark souls

I hate that any game with difficulty is 'Souls Like' now. There were many games before DS that required you to memorize attack patterns and offered you few opportunities for success, it was called Mega Man. You want to play a hard game, Mega Man 2.

This definitely isn't Dark Souls. You can make a lot of mistakes, just not in the big attacks from bosses.

And if you think the bosses are bullet sponges, I am certain you are using a wrecked build.

Bosses aren't One-Cast-Kill like how they are in Diablo 4, sure, but they aren't bullet sponges either if you use adequately the tools the game gives you.
nah

in Dark Souls, you had to i-frame dodge roll everything (if you can't parry them)

in PoE2, you have bullet hell; you actually don't need the dodge roll that much either
PoE2 boss fights is probably still closer to MMORPG raid boss fights, but with less AoE indicators
