It's fundamentally superior to mouse move.
Click to move is an ancient and inefficient control system.
It works for older titles because they're typically not mechanically complex.
I am genuinely curious how you would buff clickmove to match the movement freedom offered by WASD.
Honestly, the first time I played an ARPG with WASD was Wolcen. And ever since, I've been unable to really enjoy ARPGs that lack it.
It just feels and plays significantly better.
I wouldnt say superior since you limited to 8 ways movement now and they built the game around it pretty much. They just need to polish mouse input method abit more like able to stop movement and stuff.
Im using wasd myself at the moment and i dont mind it at all. Its pretty much a disadvantage not using it lol
what made PoE so attractive was that it wasn't "like" anything else
GGG has thrown the PoE feel into the dumpster and has chosen to go after the casuals
as the game stands now it feels like just another console game, which sucks because weve all spent so much time and money on this game in the past only now to have them throw our dedication back in our faces
GGG have lost a lot of credibility imo
WASD feels awkward af. I think I will have to retrain my brain to get used to it... played D3/D4 always using force move key...
Uh Ok. Doesn't make sense or help. I didn't realize this was Mavis Beacon?
If I am firing ranged weapons, I prefer not moving closer accidentally. I move and fire if the mob gets too close.
also no, what made poe attractive was that it was a well-made game, not because it was a special snowflake game - objectively it is "like" a lot of other games, they're just not as good
