Diablo 4 has a much better open world

I played poe 2 for 10 hours already and the maps while looking beautiful are extremely boring

Nothing going on, you kill mobs and complete quests but the maps are empty with 0 exploration or any fun activities

While diablo 4 has:
- different random local events that give rewards
- strongholds
- world bosses
- pvp zones
- statues of lilith
- helltide events

And more cool things

I was expecting poe2 to have something more than maps with mobs and main quests…

I don't really consider any of them having "open worlds" its all just zoned maps, but I'd argue the map is better in Diablo 3 than 4. I hate all the mmo multiplayer "events" and map design in Diablo 4 personally, its clearly trying to be something its not...lets not even get started about the raid bosses, etc.

I haven't played PoE2 yet (played 1) but I definitely don't think D4 is a better (or best) diablo game, let alone ARPG.

As for open world, I'd argue Larians arpg's had the best open worlds because its not procedural generated, meaning it feels like an established world.

Uhh... what? You can't make it 10 seconds without running into mobs even in regular overworld locations. In helltides you can't make it 3 seconds without running into a pack of mobs.

Plus you see other players all the time, especially in events like the Realmwalkers, helltide boss spawns, world bosses, etc.

So, really... are you just blatantly lying because you're fanboying for POE 2 or have you never played Diablo 4?

D4 isn't proc. gen. That's D3 and that's specifically the greater rifts.

You can open diablo 4, run around the map for 30 minutes and see how much activities and content it has

And you can run 30 min in poe2 after that
