HDD os SSD? Just load times or it changes performace?

Is this one of those games that an SSD makes huge diference or does it just change load times? I have both hdd and ssd on my pc, but the SSD is full, so i will probably have to uninstall something, and because of that i would rather install it in the HDD if its just the minor incovenience of load times, otherwise, if performace changes drasticaly (like baldur gate and forza) then i will install it on the SSD.
Anybody knows ?

SSD is heavily recommended for PoE1, I expect the same for PoE2.
They also put an SSD in their recommended specs.

POE1 was pretty much unplayable on an HDD.

Believe me, I tried.

When I got my new rig with an SSD, it changed everything.

Don't even attempt to play POE2 on an HDD, you will be severely disappointed.

In 2024 I recommend SSD over HDD

HDD is really only good for mass data storage at this point. If your motherboard doesn't support an NVME drive for runtime storage then a solid state drive should be on your wishlist.

Game runs fine on HDD i play it this way atm, no issues overall and loading is not so bad. I may move it to the SSD later on but will see. You can always transfer the install folder so it's not a big deal if you want to do some testing.

Do not use a HDD in 2024 unless you need super cheap storage.

HDD's have much lower transfers per second compared to SSD (and NVMe's are even faster), it struggles with modern games.
