They already did it once in 2015
The game was harder with slower pace, monsters you encountered were meaningful
Then came the influx of dissatisfied D3 players and they shifted toward zoom zoom gameplay turning the game into a lawn mower simulator
Problem with original POE is you can't make a build without POB (a third party tool).
From softwares target audience is the mainstream, the same is true for this game in my opinion
"Extremely easy and casual".. I mean they're not impossible or anything, but there's quite a gap between Dark Souls III and something like Peggle or Candy Crush, which I'd consider actual casual games.
I found modern From games plenty difficult (unless cheesed) & I've been playing games since the NES days (Battletoads was a sonofa..).
You're probably right about the target audience though. That was my point, there's a big audience for games that aren't just autowin lawnmower simulators.
Stop lying
im a casual player for poe1. Most of the players left the league 2 months ago. im still trying to kill ubers in SSF.
I don't have much time so I play whenever I want. By the way, it doesn't take longer. Even though our playing times are the same, I play for a longer period of time.
You get 1 attempt per boss, and if you fail you need to grind again for the key to try.
I reckon they are on the same level as Candy Crush in terms of difficulty (when we look at mechanics) again often the only challange is when you meet something with a new pattern and you can´t predict it before seen it..
This is not really "hard" its more in the spectrum of "we don´t know yet"
Gameplay is not hard, its easy to time, its easy to counter enemies (when you know patterns) etc.. thus why its called time sequenced combat.
In many situations, the root gameplay is the same as it was in Punch Out!!!.
I personally dislike time sequenced combat, because it is more on the verge of annoyance, than hard. But I can easily live with it, if there are other qualities of said games (often there is not, leaving the gameplay to be the only reason quality thing)
This game is also easy mechanical wise and that is no issue for me, infact I want to play PoE2 to stress out and have a casual moment.. that is the allure of this game for me.. casual relaxation.
I think if we get only one attempt on a boss and the boss will be legit challenging, most normies will quit. PoE 1 is a successful game, but compared to success of Diablo 4, it's a drop in the ocean. I hope they give us more attempts per boss, because then they can amp up the actual encounter even more. Other than that, I think the semi-hardcore atlas is cool and I hope it stays that way.
I mean.. it's just like every single other ARPG out there... play for fun until you have to start grinding for better gear or upgrades. People generally find their own comfort zone there. Some will grind longer than others.
It's all relative.
