What was that sound effect?

I'm playing with two others and we all heard a strange sound effect, like a musical instrument playing a few notes. We have no notice of what it was and theres nothing we can see in our inventories or character sheets to indicate a change.

Its a bit alarming and out of place, anyone have a clue?

If this "strange sound effect" occurred while you were inside a dungeon, it just indicates that a previously blocked passage has opened, mostly achieved by walking over special "switch" tiles.
