I understand what you're saying, but if your gamepad isn't supported it isn't possible to set up coop. To illustrate, this is is what the single player screen looks like when my dual action is plugged in: http://i.imgur.com/FYHX4iA.jpg
Providing the option to use keyboard controls for player 2 makes it possible to start the coop mode, but if your gamepad isn't supported there's no way to go further.
Yep. I'm trying to jerry rig a solution to play coop that doesn't involve buying another gamepad, but with the way the game is set up that doesn't seem possible. Having P1 set to keyboard and P2 set to gamepad is an elegant solution when it works, but gives the player no way to work around it when it doesn't. Just thought I'd point out that is was an issue for some people.
BTW, my friends are making games in GM Studio as well :)
Hey there, a possible workaround for this would be to use a program called joy2key, which maps buttons on your ps2 controller to keyboard keypresses. Using this method doesn't work for 2 player (in which case you need x360ce), but for single player it's fine. As far as the game knows, there will be no controller connected, only a keyboard.
