Stat/Talent Scaling
I have a question about stat and talent scaling and it's effect on the gameplay. Right now leveling up strength increases your damage by an insignificant amount compared to the scaling you get from special abilities. Also, the attack increasing talents (the chance to trigger ones) start at really low percentages, making them useless early game, and when you finally get them up there, regular attacks do next to no damage (compared to skills) in the later levels, even when you dump all your stats into strength. On top of that a lot of skills have a cap in damage (Hydra) because they don't scale with anything, making them useless later as well.

Are there any plans to make it so nothing is useless? Or am I wrong about these claims?

its up to the player to tell what abilites and builds are useless, and what is useless and trash. part of figuring these things out and understanding them is apart of gaming. most games always have trash abilities, characters, ect. and if you suceed or lose is based on how quickly you realise whats useful, and what isn't. this game isn't any diffrent, there is a good number of useless abilities and whatnot.

yes it is. take for example the viking. he only has about 5 or 6 good abilities, and the rest are pretty trash. zeal attacks are completly useless when all his actives instantly kill their target. and his crit is pretty worthless to. his stun on attack is kinda useful, sometimes, but thats about it. his entire tree other then his four actives, and maybe stun, is totally useless. why would you use anything else when those abilities all instantly kill whatever they hit for the most part, very few bosses survive the four ability combo.

even if you put literally all stats into str and attack speed, and all points into the % activate abilities, its still completly trash, because you don't do even close to what you would if you would just press a to instantly kill everything in sight. hell, attacking enemies is completly useless other then to hopefully trigger stun because there is 0% chance the enemy will die before your slam is ready, and that instantly kills your target.

even when you get tons and tons of str, and relics that boost it further, % based skills are all trash because your slam scales off your str, so it will LITERALLY, ALWAYS be better then just attacking. even if you want to argue stunlock, why stun when you can kill? and again, stuns the only decent skill aside from his 4 actives.

and to crush anything you have left to say, the pirates get money ability is legit useless because attempting to shop crashes the game with a object undefined error. so right now, there is literally no reason to join a game with a pirate and spec into that skill, because it is 100% worthless, as there are no relics or anything that makes your money do anything. literally 100% useless trash.

Exactly. Your example basically sums up what I was originally trying to say.

actually you know there is a crown that makes 5% of your money get added to your damage right i guess you have not ever got that relic before or you would know about that

Worth pointing out, this type of game is not designed to have regular scaling patterns. I cannot speak for the percentage of 'non-trash' abilities each class is designed to have, but the idea with your strength is that you are designed to be ridiculously weak to start with, gaining only slight advantages over time.

This is a concept not unusual in rogue-like games. Point in case, look at the stat gaining design of Rogue Legacy.
