Is this just wishful thinking on the part of the dev? I had to laugh. Steam shows 1/3 this many players, and tracking sites report that's literally the highest it's ever been.

Well.. im not smart ass and don't know that stuff, but remember theres mobile hero siege version aswel.. and thats cross platform - both play same game on same servers :)

The number never changes, or at least it hasn't today. Pretty sure it's hardcoded in.

It's cute that you think Steam is the only way to play games. The number was 17k last night when I checked it, it probably doesn't update very often, or if it's stuck at around 24k that might just be the max capacity they can support at the moment. There is often a queue to get in afterall.

Fairly sure the numbers are somewhat on point.

Most times I'm stuck in a queue with 500-600 and sometimes I can't even get into a queue.

They expanded the server capacity earlier and that helped...for an hour or two before it hit maximum capacity again. Like others said not all of those users are on steam so using steam stats for this is pointless.

Are they being truthful? ♥♥♥♥ knows, but there is certainly a ton of people playing it right now.

Hero Siege is cross platform which Steam does not account for. Wether or not the game lobby's player number is 100% accurate is probably negligible because it's more likely that number is more close to the real number. It's not ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ "hardcoded in", which I don't think you quite know what it means. If servers are absolutely cooked then all kinds of functions bound to it will malfunction simple as that.

I had actually forgotten the game was on other platforms. You're probably spot on with the max capacity comment. It's back to 17k now. Damn.
