First quest--bind skill?

So it doesnt tell me HOW to bind a skill to complete the first quest? Its so dumb when games dont explain basic game mechanics.

Since no one else thats played this game has ever equipped a skill apparently, i figured it out on my own. You have to left click on the attack buttons in the bottom left, then click on the slot you want a skill in, then select the skill above that. Not sure why they cant just TELL you how to do it in the quest, but that would be too easy i guess.

The sign that you get the quest from says,

You can open the Stat & Skill screen by pressing "T" to assign Attribute and Skill Points. You also have 12 additional skill binds on top of the left and right click. In order to bind a skill, click on the right button skill slot, hover a skill you want to bind and press the skill button bind it. You can also change these bind from the options! Good luck hero!
