Wormhole key

So i just kill Anubis on agony and he dropped something called a wormhole key. What does this thing do and where does it lead?

Got this far and didnt speak to the guy in town that literally asks for a wormhole key?

@Skyblazer Speak to the Dr. in town he will consume you key move down and left a bit there'll be a tree with a red portal in it that is the wormhole "world" be aware the items in there are like high-end items from your difficulty so if you already have act 5/6 normal gear i suggest playing in nightmare and so forth

I've tried the Wormhole realm around 3 times now. It drops insanely good items (friend got 650 AS weapon). But it seems sort of bugged since there's a progress bar that you fill in there while killing monsters but no boss or anything appears so literally it's just monster equal to the level of difficulty you're playing on in a sandy beach area with a lot of chests(remember you need wings or some sort of leap like the marksman to get to these islands) and then a ladder out.

When the progress bar fils up a random boss spawns (no act boss just regular it seems), and it has a good chance to drop a legendary or Mythical item, have done 6 Wormhole runs on Agony so far and haven't seen a decent item yet out of the Mythical items that has dropped.

Tho Wormholes are probably the fastest way to gear up a character with Mythical items now: Play until an act boss-> get wormhole keys and do the wormhole. Later on i think act6 and leaving before satan is the best option.

Full myth geared my pala in a1 agony in less than 30mins. Definintely the easiest place to farm

Try my first Wormhole at lvl 110 on my Viking, got around 30lvl in 2 wormhole, and some good items :)
BTW, Wormhole are on Destruction only, no? When i came out of the Wormhole, difficulty was set to Destruction

I'm not sure about that. I always start wormhole on Normal because I don't bother change the difficulty and when I finish the wormhole the game says I'm on Destruction.

Same for me, just did a WormHole, and when we are in, the difficulty is set to Destruction :)
