Screen freeze, but the game continues playing

Howdy,

I've been getting the issue recently where the screen will freeze. It's as if it's displaying a screenshot. However, my character will still be in the world and the game seems to work properly otherwise.

I managed to play a full 2 waves after the bug happened by just looking at my sister's screen while playing online, which confirms that the game itself is still running fine (plus the sounds also play in SP, as well as rumbling on the controller).

Also, from the limited testing I did, it would seem that the character chosen impacts the time it takes for the bug to occur. I tried with a samurai and the game would "screenshot" itself within 10 seconds every time, while the Amazon was often able to full clear a level before it froze up.

Has anyone else had this issue or managed to find a fix for it? I've already put up a bug report on the tracker, but who knows if that will ever bear any fruit.

For the record, I've tried:

- Virus scan
- Dropped refresh rate from 144hz to 120hz and 60hz
- Verified game files
- Disabled Xfire / Enabled it
- Tried different GFX levels
- Complete reinstall of the game
- Rebooting PC (both soft and hard)

I would have tried more, but I'm starting to think it might just be that the game hates my system:

i5 3570k
16GB G.Skill DDR3 1600Mhz
Radeon 7990
Win 10 64-bit

Drivers up to date as of a week or two ago (I know, that's so informative :P ) and virus scans have been clean since I installed W10.

If anyone knows of a fix for this, please lemme know as I'd love to be able to actually play the game.

Just did a little more testing, seems that the issue is only cropping up when the game is in full-screen mode.

I've tried disabling all overlays, thinking that might have caused an issue, but it didn't make a difference. Only running in windowed has let the game work without freezing. I made it through 5 waves without an issue happening, but the second it goes back to full-screen, it freezes up within the first wave.

So yay, I've at least found a work around for it =\

I'm also having this exact issue.

AMD FX-8350
16GB DDR3 1600
2*AMD Radeon HD 7800 (CrossFireX)
Win 10 64-bit

Edit: Issue just happened again then, attempting to alt + enter crashed the game. Running in windowed mode resolves the issue for me too.

I don't think I had the same issue as you, but my game did freeze, and I had to manually force close the game, which ended up wiping my relics.

Alternatively, I did take a screen shot of something else that happened weird (see my screenshot in profile). I became super Amazon, and filled up the entire screen until I died... kind of cool, I guess?
