Do seaons in this game wipe character progress?

Just wondering if I should start playing prior to S3 or not since it seems like the game has a seasonal progression system. Not sure if there's any benefit to coming back shortly before a wipe.

Hello, usually whenever a new season starts, the characters from SEASON are transformed into characters from NON-SEASON, NON-SEASON characters remain unchanged, and this applies to Softcore, Hardcore, and Odyssey characters alike; characters in Local Play do not undergo any changes. Remember that NON-SEASON characters cannot interact or play with SEASON characters, and vice versa.

reset all character? i just reinstall this game, before i have 2 account and 50+lvl but is gone now

There was a big update that changed data structures, complete re-work of the game back end and skills etc so we had to wipe the existing characters unfortunately.
