How do I assign skills?

I level up press T, choose new active skills but... They aren't assigned to a shortcut... Not to keys like 1, 2, 3 or 4. Neither to keys like Q, W, E, or R... how do I do this? The game seems cool, but I want to learn how to do this.

Otherwise I will have to keep punching zombies and skeletons.

Left click on the right click attack button in the lower left, hover over the ability you want to select, then press the button you want that ability to be assigned to. Yeah they should've had some kind of tutorial pop up when you first obtain a new ability, but eventually I figured it out.

But this way, I can only assign one skill (to right-click). Right-click was previously assigned to normal attack.

I tried but I can't bind the Q, W, E, or R to other skills, there must be something I am doing wrong...

Keys 1, 2, 3, and 4 are correctly working with potions and have been automatically auto assigned.

Otherwise, I will have to try the controller controls...

While you mouse over the skill press the keybind button to assign it to the skill after left clicking the bottom corner where they are. One thing I did notice is I am not able to keybind an aura which is weird so i have to left click skill bar to enable it every time.

Thank you, I feel kind of of stupid asking these things, but I also feel the process of assigning is not very intuitive.

Took me going through a few forum posts to understand how to actually assign keys.. and it's one of the worst ways to assign keys in a game I've ever seen. Well done devs.
