Did some testing with numbers to see how much money i personally would have to spend inorder to get an angelic piece of gear. being 1% drop chance and people having different luck i figured id do some math. Here's the results using /roll command in World Of Warcraft ingame chat command 1-100 roll. 100 being an angelic.

71 blue (Rare)
30 orange (Legendary)
9 purple (Mythic)
6 red (Satanic)
1 white (Angelic)

total cost= $174.33

$1.49 per key / 1 roll

it took me nearly $200 usd to get an angelic piece of gear... (White)..

While 1% chance is much much higher than the in game chance for it to naturally drop, i don't believe its worth this price. A lot of this loot can be earned in a couple of hours of gameplay.

To each their own, if someone wants to spend that kind of money thats on them. I personally used to be a whale and spent money i saved up during highschool on Trove Chaos chests (Another form of loot boxes). Just putting this out there as one example so when they do release you have some form of general idea

Be safe guys remember how much money it could rack up trying to get a piece.

Edit 2: I totally want to support the devs. if you feel the same way then skins might be a great alternative. And yes, i know lootboxes are optional.. But giving someone who can't control their spending habits a fresh opportunity to burn cash isn't healthy imo..

Actually this is straight up abuse. Loot boxes are currently going through the process to be outright illegal in the UK because they prey upon children and those who have a gambling addiction tendency. These loot boxes are straight up unethical considering how many DLC's this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game has.

There is literally no reason for these to be implemented in this game other than sheer greed and cruelty.

Until they get a clue and listen to all of the negative feedback, they should not receive another cent in support. Let their game die because they decided to turn into EA. That is the only way we can get them to listen at this point as they honestly think they can triple dip on us (we have to buy the game, buy the dlc's and now buy loot boxes).

I'm ready to spend some money to get some items for collection for my Steam inventory and i want to do it, that's my opinion. Nobody can't stops me with that, for spending my own money for lootboxes!

The market should be flooded with blue/orange cosmetics for people to buy for a dime or two. I don't necessarily hate this system.

I was mad and regretted what I typed since it's a game and getting worked up over it is silly. So I deleted my rash words and moved on. Again, sad you can't do the same. It's a shame. You voice really thought out opinions and have good points. Why can't someone as smart as you realize I was having a ♥♥♥♥ day, raged on the internet, regretted it and removed my hate? This reminds me of the time when RIFT went free to play and the developers promised they wouldn't sell out by making gear purchasable (obviously Hero Siege is a much smaller game/set). I think the Hero Siege developers don't really care what people think, they want the monies and they're going to do it regardless of what people think and little kids are going to spend their money getting what they want - most are going to lose $$$ and a few may come out with cool stuff.

It's just a form of gambling. If it was cosmetics only, it would be a different story, but adding a lootbox mechanic with gear is a bad idea in ANY game in my opinion when it involves REAL money.

It's only skins though. No actual items. Just skins with rarity based off the in game item types. You cannot get actual gear or any aspect of Pay2Win from this.

As long as it's skins, that's fine, good good. It would be kind of funny if they pulled a RIFT/Trion Worlds power move and started off with cosmetics and then moved to item lootboxes though, funny and sad. Hopefully they just stay with cosmetics like you guys are saying. Fingers crossed, hope for the best.

Like i said.. Skins are one thing. Some people will be drawn to buying the boxes because they can house actual loot. That's their choice. Id start boycotting the developers if they would do something like reducing normal drop rates to push people to buy boxes. Lets just hope that doesn't happen.
