So I'm having MAJOR trouble versus Gurag.
I'm on Normal Difficulty, as a Pyro, and I just can not beat him. No matter how hard I try (around 15 times now) I can NOT beat him. I haven't had any trouble before this boss, but now I'm just getting shafted hard. Any tips? I started fighting him at level 20 or so, and now I'm 35.

I'd try stacking stam on your gear for now. Yeah, you'll do less damage, but you'll be able to take more hits. Just try your best to avoid avalanche.
