Is there a reason my game is running slow.

I have an i5-4670k 3.4 GHz processor, a GTX 960 2GB Graphics card and 16GB of ram.
I know that's slightly lower then recommended so I can't run on high settings.
But it's way better than the minimum requirements so I should be able to run this game smoothly.
Every time I start the game though it runs really slow and choppy unless I bring all the settings to low, especially in the blizzard at the start. Is there something I may be missing which is why this is happening?

the game isn't optimize yet and that grahpics card is just to low for this game. no offense to you but this game need a card that better than what you got to run smoothly personally im running a gtx 1070 with 8gb my cpu only slighty better than yours a i7 4470k with 16 gb ram and i play fine so by that your card the problem.

This is a very graphic good looking game low card just wont cut it really even on low setting

I've heard of people playing with a 660 at max graphics at 20-24fps so there is definitely a way to make it work, if you are running on a laptop please make sure that the game is running on the dedicated GPU (GTX) and not the integrated GPU (Intel HD) also the snow at the beginning is very light in terms of performance cost there is no reason at all you should have issues so i think it's clearly a misconfiguration and running on the wrong GPU

That did it! For some reason it wasn't using my GTX. Now it's running super smooth on very high.
