On a semi related note:
How did you survive his apocalypse move? Does it have to do with those power crystal things? When you break them they seem to create a shield but I thought I was inside one and all my characters took 9999 damage. Did I break it too early and the shield wore off?
I just pounded his face in before he could use the attack.
Yeah it probably wore off
I figured it out and was killing the crystal too soon and the shield wore off. Just won.
I mean - nothing is explained. It's not a matter of adding endgame content - it's a matter of "this is a finished game and it lacks an ending". What is this - advent rising?
I haven't been this disapointed and confused in a long time.
Myrna was no-where to be seen at the end, and I'm assuming that not all the Archelite's ships were destroyed when Daryon shot his magic beam. That means that plot thread is still there and we still don't actually know what their purpose for coming to the plant was/is.
We also have the corrosion to deal with. We learned some things about the corrosion, but not only hints about what was causing it and how it spread. So that's another story point that needs to be wrapped up.
Finally, we have the Seed of Destruction and Real War story point. The imperator and Karo had some dialogue after the credits saying that Daryon gave up the ability to speak to destroy Oboros and that he's the third bearer and he will be needed again as the Real War hadn't even begun.
I am not sure what their road map looks like for development. Based on the content above you would need sizeable expansions to cover, and finish out, the story. Either way I am really looking forward to how it all plays out!
If you want to use anime as comparison - I've seen way too many shows (dozens if not hundreds at this point) that were left with a cliffhanger in limbo forever. That's what I'm afraid of. Like I mentioned - another Advent Rising or Deus Ex Mankind Divided. We had to wait years for Trails of Cold Steel to be translated without any confirmation of it happening - so I guess you could call me paranoid.
I wouldn't care if I didn't like the story - but I did, and that's why I'm upset.
Still so many things unfinishd.
What I know is this - there's absolutely no way that the devs would leave the game like that. It's obvious that there is SOMETHING planned for the future. But if that's going to be DLC or was this ending a sequel bait - that I don't know.
There is no second part coming in this game, EOE is about the Oboros Arc, the War and Corrosion arcs are part of the universe and will be addressed in another game / sequel, if you played that game it's like Golden Sun I and II, we are thinking about adding an extra credits scene for NG+ tho to clarify some things but nothing sure yet
Considering I've had more fun with this than many extremely disappointing AAA titles lately, I hope they can pull it off.
