So it seems he's built to be a tank but other then that so far he's been pretty much useless. His gear and weapons are all magic+, magic def+ and def+ but he has no spells that I have seen. His attacks are weak. In a boss fight I can see why he'll be good but in regular fights he's a 3rd wheel. His energy is out to soon imo. He has that huge reaper weapon and hits like a lil' girl.......

Also with player initiative in the field a tank isn't needed.

you only use taunt on enemies (shockwave skill on all enemies) what you need in the fight and then nap skill to recharge and heal he dont need to do more
and his shockwave attack is thunder based so he need magic attack for it i think

Taunt goes back to what I said above, other then a tank he's not much use. I know how to use his skills. His thunder based attack is limited and weak. Re-read above. He needs more atk based gear or at least a weapon. I spend a decent amount of time grinding and that's where he needs more attack power, he just slows me down lol.

I got an attack base testament weapon through random battle and he's doing pretty good with shockwave. So far, I put everything into attack and he doing about 1000 damage with it.

i have atk based legendary weapon for him from quest

i do 1k with normal attack and 1,5-1,6k with shockwave

play to end of chapter 6 then you get a other tank more useless then him

Weapon crafting recipes are still incredibly rare drops for how many there are, and weapon drops seem like kind of a crapshoot. I was using chapter one weapons through chapter 3 because in ten hours of gameplay nothing better dropped for either character and there was nothing better in the stores.

The bonuses weapons get seem to have nothing to do with character archetypes and everything to do with a (very unfriendly) rng, which in theory is a neat system but with how rare weapon drops seem to be and how tedious combat can be it doesn't really work like they were hoping.

Yeah you can adjust stats through crystal manipulation but that's going to rely on having a good path in the first place, plus it's only going to add up to about 10 points when the base weapon bonuses at level 25 or 30 can reach +40.

Coupled with the rng it doesn't end up being as customizable as it seems to be intended.

I have at least 4 weapon crafting recipes just no where to use them. I have no problem crafting armor. I also have a scythe recipe that would be nice to use.

There are separate weapon crafting tables in all the cities, the menu looks completely different from the armor crafting ones though.

Go figure not much after typing the above post I got a soul blade recipe.

You have to cycle between characters and/or move the cursor to the right to get the other weapons.

I still have no idea where to craft non soul blade weapons.

Using a 360 controller (no idea what it looks like for keyboard), I used the analogue to move between weapon trees and rb/lb to cycle between different characters.

If you aren't using a 360 controller just try whatever the chystal menu controls are since they're pretty much the same for me

I can cycle characters but it only shows soul blade trees.

There should be 2 other trees to the right, there is for me. I'll take another look.

What controller are you using?
