win 7 should be supported for as long as we like that mean come 2030 i still be on win 7 with or without updates and i seen a few of companies still using xp cause they refuse to upgrade i personally still got a pc that run xp
such is life and not a dam thing we can do unless we can write the code ourselves then we just have to deal with it
give it time pliskinazo369 they fix unity eventually just got to wait sucks i know
same SO maybe? bazinga
Personally I have a great Win 10 developer laptop .. with Intel integrated graphics (but HDMI out to TV!). And a (formerly) great Windows 7 workstation with a graphics card. Oh and this cool feature called Steam Streaming. (Unfortunately the aging server-grade workstation doesn't run Windows 10 reliably. Microsoft officially resolved my case with "Downgrade to Windows 7").
ASIDE:
Yes i'm up acutely aware I'm against a wall with Jan 14, 2020. My aging tools meet my needs, there is no budget to replace them. Whatever the solution, my casual gaming alone doesn't justify an entire new gaming rig... :(
While I agree Windows 7 is superior/preferable in many ways your view is overall naive. All Operating Systems and most Enterprise software have published support life-cycles. Most companies follow a rolling Support-Cycle, and End-of-Support for versions is known from the day of initial release. If not, then End-Of-Life is announced YEARS in advance! It is impossible to continue developing new innovative software while back-porting fixes indefinitely or making exclusive bug-fixes for every previous piece of software one ever released. The most die-hard Windows 7 developers at Microsoft will be popping champagne the day they can close that source-control branch - forever! I promise you.

Doesn't look like they put much priority to it. Maybe we should upvote it so they know it's important...
None of it is important to this throw away society. Some use the garbage 10 for work as we are forced and game unlike the kiddies on tons of old games that REQUIRE Win 7, because Microsoft is a lazy monopoly..
I hope enough can at least make a little stink about it, at least..
Some can take the extended support for Win 7 at the end of 2019, by the way..
