You need to block the way for the corroded Morom to reach the crystals that he target (you can also use repulse skills to delay him further) he gets 20% stronger each time he eat a crystal and use more powerful spells each times
When I saw this post I equipped a gem with cyclone (my only "repulse" skill) so I can push the big guy around. However, the crystals are in the corners of the battle arena and once he's there, you can't really angle enough to push him away. Further, if he starts going to a crystal to bite it you have to position yourself just so to push him, and if you're behind him you're only going to push him towards it.
The fact that he keeps buffs is ridiculous. It took two bites of the shield stones for it to that one hit crystalize attack. And once it gets the shield Daryon is perpetually only dealing one damage to it, even when it moves away from the crystal; the remainder of the fight ends up being a 1v1 with Selene & Morom.
I figure there's gotta be something I'm missing here. Am I supposed to have way better weapons and armor at this point? Daryon & Selene are both level 17, alpha morom is 18, and it's impossible. I've switched weapons, gems, nothing works. It's just too easy for the the alpha to buff itself up TOO much. Maybe reduce the 20% buff it gets from each crystal to 5 or something? Alpha Morom is pretty strong before buffing itself up and having Daryon useless as soon as it consumes a shield crystal is just too much of a weakness. Are there any other solutions besides using repulse skills?
TWO?? Who else can you have in your party by this point? I only have Daryon and Selene. I haven't found any recruitable characters yet.
Can you try also to use defense breaker on the boss it diminish is resistance to damage, the other method to beat the boss is to burst dps.
If you feel like the boss is impossible to beat you can do a bug report ingame so i'll have your save and i'll be able to test if something in the balance has been broken, we do a lot of modifications to skills and Stats it's not impossible that something broke in the process so with your bug report i'll be able to check and fix it.
Thank you, I'll do that. What's defense breaker? I don't think I've seen anything called that.
Defense breaker is a Daryon skill
Here you go: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/465369534?t=00h32m56s
Is defense breaker a skill that comes from a gem? If so is it possible that RNG just hasn't given me that gem yet? (I just checked all my gems, I don't have one that gives defense breaker as a spell)
Are you using your gems to give yourself as much attack as possible? I'm wondering if your use of cyclone was forcing its ai to go for more crystals and buffing itself.
I feel I might have had three characters when I did that part (which would REALLY help you if thats so) I almost feel like that dungeon was a side quest one and you can go get your third party member then return and rofl stomp it (and if thats the case I would have naturally been 2-3 levels further on in the story)
As for revives you might have 1000 in your inventory but it has a max use per character per combat. So yeah you can run out really quick.
Defence breaker comes from gems which are random (except store bought ones, and I don't recall if that was purchasable)
Personally I use as many spells as I can on the female mage (ice, water, thunder, fire, aoe earth, aoe something else) on the warrior I have fire, ice, defence down, and accelerate (which IMO I don't find useful when you consider you lose the turn and mp to enable it and it wears off quickly)
Used cyclone for a bit before deciding its not really that useful most of the time.
Yes, I'm using gems, and have even swapped weapons and gems to get the highest damage possible. I only used cyclone for one fight, once I realized how ultimately useless it is in this fight.
As far as I remember doing this guy is a main mission. You need it to be able to sleep at the village (I forget the name), and before you can get the Nekaroo. As far as I'm aware fighting the boss and getting the Nekaroo are necessary for progressing the main quest.
If there is a recruitable character I could have had by this point, I have no idea who it is.
if its required then I would suggest wandering and leveling up a bit more
She told me how to find Selene's teacher person and once I had that information I left. If I could talk to her again and recruit her before leaving that wasn't apparent to me.
Will levelling accomplish anything since all the enemies in the game seem to be levelled to the player?
Have had some where a couple levels made a huge difference (looking at you floor 10 boss pre nerfs) you go from taking hundreds of damage and doing nothing to the reverse
Now with being horrible overleveled i'm about twice the level of the enemy in chapter 3 and they haven't increased at all
Might be you get her right after that part, again its been so long since I did that section its hazy :P
Could be that since I wandered the map, got crystals and just poked everywhere before going the right way that I was of a higher level
