Everyone should be able to play Cuphead
Gamers need to get over this 'games should be hard' mentality. The hobby we enjoy should be the same as any other hobby. If you hunt deer as a hobby, with a bow, you can use a gun to make it easier, same should be with gaming.

Anyone can play and beat cuphead, it's not too hard. For some it might take longer than others, but even for inexperienced gamers it shouldn't take more than 20 hours to beat it, while experienced gamers take 5-ish hours and average gamers take 10 hours. It's actually one of the easier games in the run n gun genre of games. Did you ever play a mega man game, gunstar heroes, metal slug, or contra?

If you find it too frustrating there is an easy mode called "simple" which let's you get all the way to the casino, only rewarding the last 5% of the game to people who got all the contracts. The other 95% is open in easy mode.

Everyone CAN play Cuphead. I didn't know Steam stopped anyone from buying it or playing it and I'm sure it's rated E for everyone. However unless someone is extremely persistent enough to develop their skills, then not everyone can BEAT it, and that's perfectly fine.

I have no idea how people complain about the difficulty in this game. While it can be challenging, other games such as Super Meat Boy are way harder. This game also lets you retry INSTANTLY when you die. You can even retry from the menu if you know that run doesn't stand a chance. I'm not even that great at platformers and this was the first game in my entire Steam library that I got 100% achievements on because the game was a lot of fun and I didn't mind dying at all.

I'm pretty bad at this game, I have a lot of hours that I spend on it but I still loving this game.

I agree.
Remember when every one HATED Resident Evil 4 because it had difficulty options and dynamic difficulty detectors?

Just no. Someone not being able to do something is part of the fun of being able to do it. That's one reason that activity stands out, or makes the person stand out.

Same here. Being bad at the game does not make it less fun, in fact beating a strong challenge after a lot of practice is very satisfying.

If a game just let's you skip past everything without having done anything accomplishing it's just not rewarding anymore and feels boring. It's like if during a football match they removed the scoreboard and gave a free win to both teams when the match is over. Why were they even playing if both parts were gonna win? There's no fun or reward in that.

Stupid analogy. Just be humble and admit that you're not good at everything.

Absolutely nothing is preventing anyone from being able to play Cuphead, or any other games out there for that matter. If a game is difficult, you can either practice and improve your skills or simply move on to another game that better fits your taste.

Just because there can be easier methods to enjoying a similar hobby, as you are implying with your deer analogy, it doesn't mean that the hobby should be brought down to an equal level and just simply give everyone an instant gratification solely because someone out there can't be bothered to improve or at least hone in their skills. Let me put it to you with another analogy: anyone and everyone can draw. So why doesn't a big animation studio just hire everyone to work for them, regardless if they understand animation or not? It's because you first need to have a level of skill and dedication that can meet their expectations, despite animating and drawing being at a basic core a simple hobby anyone can do.

The developers designed this game specifically to be difficult, so that players learn to pay attention to all the beautiful character animation that went into this game. If that's too much of a nuisance for you, you can simply not play it at all, but nothing is preventing you from getting better. You have an entire lifetime ahead of you to be able to enjoy this game all the way through.

You can use a trainer, that's your gun for this game. Unless you want a challenge. What's the problem?
P1 Oct 19, 2017 @ 2:10pm
i gotta respectfully disagree with that. Without difficulty, games wouldn't be as fun.

Someone should make the deer stand still for those without the skills and patience to be silent long enough to make a kill.

Well don't expect to beat a game in an hour then? People like you need to realize that games aren't made hard or easy when they are released. The player base decides what the game is due to reviews and experiences. You have 1.7 hours on record from this post and you cannot decide anything from this little play time so run back into your little hermit hole and enjoy the game for what it is. If you want it to not be "hard" for you put the hours in and play it until you are better and can say it isn't "hard".

Gotta disagree with op here. Nobody is being barred from playing cuphead. anyone can purchase and play it. Anyone can sit down and practice and eventually get better.

If devs want to make a challenging game there's nothing wrong with that. If you don't like a game for whatever reason, (difficulty, graphics, gameplay, mechanics, etc.) that's okay. Just don't try and shame the devs to divert resources to something you want. It's up to the consumer to decide if a challenging game is worth purchasing or not.
