Hope it doesn't get pirated.
Hopefully such a great-looking game as Cuphead doesn't get pirated. Haven't got the money for the game (sadly) but still, I'm not gonna pirate. I'm glad this game is as cheap as it is and not a full-price $60 game. This should feature everything you want in an indie game, thanks in advance.

Ah damn, hard to see this happening though, if they had a bigger budget they could make the game pirate-prohibited.

DRM is NOT a good thing you know.

Most people who pirate a game end up buying the game (Unless they hated it). I don't think this game will suffer too heavily from pirating. :cuphead:

U are gonna make the shills and fake gamers mad with that statement. I stopped pirating long ago after learning that it is actually stealing but the shills will defend that anticonsumer DRM practices like oh idk this game when it was on the Windows 10 Store UWP (Worst DRM out there locked game files)

The EU surpressed a 300 page study they commissioned to find the effects piracy had on various copyrighted movies, games, books etc. they supressed it because the study found that outside of movies near theatrical release the affects of piracy on revenue was negilble. . .

Not only is DRM a bad thing, piracy also helps the sales because unlike what people think, most people who pirate the game do it to TRY it out because developers usually fail to understand people want to try a game before buying. If they like it, they buy it.

It is exactly the same as buying the game on steam and then refunding it, only much more flexible and less hassle.

Wish people would stop seeing piracy as negative, at least for video games.

That's wishful thinking.
Budget has very little to do with "pirate-prohibiting" games, it comes down to the fact that there isnt exactly a reliable way to prevent people from cracking the game.

Clever bait. I almost fell for it until you said "if they had a bigger budget they could make the game pirate-prohibited".

Piracy doesnt hurt game sales. An EU study found that it could even help game sales.

If anything, restrictive DRMs like Denuvo does more to harm sales. As people hate restrictive DRM that forces sh*t like always online, and that can potentially reduce game performance and longer load times.
Plus Denuvo has become so useless now that Total War Warhammer 2 got cracked in hours from release.

ATM cuphead has sold over 800 hundred copies just in steam and with gog and xbox sales its a huge success, and piracy helps this game a lot, agree with Captain Jordan and Parasite X, it doesnt hurt sales and there are a ton of reasons about it but life is to short and there are many many really many games out there so pick your purchases wisely and pirate the rest jaja.

Yeah 8bitreachy....I also had the pirated version...but when I play this game...thought really its the game should not be pirated...
League of Legends Nov 5, 2017 @ 11:15pm
They should really do what the games studio (acid wizards?) did on there game darkwood available on steam. They put up a free download for all the pirates someplace else and it actually got pirates to buy the game. Regardless of that game being an actual masterpiece to a real hidden gem
