My pros and cons
I'm one of the players of the first Planco alpha and of course I bought all the DLCs and would have bought 10 more🤣 if Frontier hadn't stopped out of nowhere😪. But now I'm hyped for Planco 2 and am happy with the number of rollercoasters and rides at launch, especially the Deluxe. I think it's a bit more than at launch, but they also had to deliver content, especially for those who bought everything. Back then, we only had the train as a transport ride, for example😃

And I think the prices for both versions are fair, especially since you can even get the Deluxe at a special price👍👍👍

My current pros and cons...

PRO:

New path tool
Brush tool
Scaling
Switch+Drop tracks
Weather with rain/umbrellas
Real dark rides (according to Silvarret)
Generally better lighting system
Number of coasters and rides and the ability to edit them
Pools and slides (but they weren't a must for me)

CONTRA (looks like more, but the pros are game changers!!):

The menu always fades out when building, extremely annoying, and snapping components doesn't seem to work yet either (see Rudi Rennkamel videos).
This MUST be in by the time it's released please!!!

With the brush tool it should be possible to select multiple objects by holding down the CTRL key

For me, it's still not enough for children's areas, which is always important in parks. At least there's the slide from RCT3, but only one junior coaster

No hotels and restaurants, why??? A MUST-HAVE, especially for the resort theme (or will there be a completely new mechanic later?)

I don't think the changing rooms are nice, they're just toilets🤔

Freefall tower not height adjustable, there's also no small one for children

A few classic rides are missing (octopus, breakdancer, flying shark, small carousel etc.)

Unfortunately, there's no collision with objects or walls, the guests still run through everything, so a lot of work has to be done with barriers again 😳

I would have liked to be able to put up fences and walls like in Planet Zoo. Unfortunately, every single fence has to be placed manually again🤔

NEUTRAL (still unclear):

Are there functioning railroad crossings?

Can all biomes/textures be used on every map?

Can modders create assets again with a TMTK?

Probably no arcade/midway games
Probably no water games

Are there assets for ghost trains?

Do the transport rides have a shuttle function? That was a problem for a long time with part 1

Do the guests leave the pools when it rains or can you even build indoor pools and then they go there?

I'm missing a second plastic lounger in white, curved please🤪

----------------------------------

Of course, some things will come with DLCs or updates 💪, we all want the pirate and western themes with a lot of new stuff asap🤩

But in general it will definitely be my game of the year🥰🥳🍻

I have a feeling there will be a lot of dlc/updates/patches that would add missing stuff like restaurants, hotels and the likes.

I miss realtime coop.

Ohh functioning railroad crossings and warning lights would be excellent! I know RCT3 has a mod that you can install crossings and tie it to the trigger. Speaking of mods, hopefully they will implement TMTK or something similar down the road so we can have actual customization to bring into the game.

- ground textures are just as ugly as the 1st game
- no grass
- dumb'ed down for consoles
- even more cartoon looking than the 1st one
- same boring coaster queues
- same path texture and platform textures

- essentially it's pc1 with pools, oh and a day 1 dlc to buy some of the same rides from pc1 too. When are we going to get a realistic theme park game?

PC2 is VERY realistic
1 Ground textures look good
2 There is a grass texture if you look hard enough
3 No it's not
4 Just use asphalt
5 Just use asphalt

NOPE .... The more i see of PC2 the more obvious it becomes it is being developed for consoles and dumbed down for pc players, instead of making a true PC2 they are pulling wool over your eyes by selling you planet coaster console edition. PC hardware is so much more capable, it is obvious they developed this for console hoping pc gamers would not notice. I bet as time goes on more people will come to this realization.

When I create a coaster in Planet Coaster, I can watch the cars running up down the tracks at as close to the accurate physics as I can determine. Maybe if somebody used a stopwatch and took actual measurements they might find accuracy errors, but I doubt if they're much.

When I zoom in close to any part of anything ... I can see incredible detail. I can see the bolts on the train tracks fastened to screws. I can see splinters on the railroad ties. I can see welding points on the scaffolding.

OK? Welding points as in where one piece of metal was welded to another, so some of the solder bulges out at the point of contact. More detail than expected or even necessary.

If this is not real enough for anybody, they should go get a job at a Real Roller Coaster Manufacturer, like Rocky Mountain Construction, Great Coasters International, Inc., etc. Go work there and Get Really Real.

Really! :steamhappy:

yeah i hate these rage baiters. The game looks plenty realistic. If they're so angry just don't buy the game.

He's definitely talking about the coasters, yeah.

Not the dot-eyed peeps, or the magical animatronics, or the staff animations, or any of the other aspects that can reasonably be called cartoony.

His expectations for the game are less valid than ours, because he's a mustache-twirling 2D villain that is out to bait some rage, and to steal our joy.

I did not know he twirled a mustache! :steamhappy:

Hotels we're given to the base game for free eventually weren't they? I don't see why they are not implemented right away since they obviously got it working on the previous engine iteration. Let alone why people would pay a DLC for it.

More than happy to pay for DLC, if its worth it. But not if its base content stripped out and resold to us.

I to would like more path textures, just use asphalt is not really any answer is it. They wouldn't have posted about more textures if they were happy just using asphalt.

I'm hoping it turns out good, but I'm not alpha testing their games any more and I'm not pre-purchasing, (did it with PC1 and Elite I'm done), Regardless of what bonus they offer (another thing i despise about modern games).

Not everyone's a rage baiter, I don't know if its been dumbed down for consoles for not. But I certainly hope not, and I hope the engine has had improvements and can handle the guest AI in the numbers they allowed in PC1

Despite all that I'm genuinely looking forward to it, just with skepticism.

Edit: typos
