Same kind of idea, Just not implemented as well.
Can't agree more with this, having a workshop that allows you to share content with multiple platforms is a big plus in my book.
While the UI isn't great and the tagging/context of shared content can be vastly improved, Frontier can still change those things. Going with the steam workshop might have given a better interface but as far as I know would strip the entire support for consoles.
The current system might not be perfect but at least we have a build-in method of sharing things with one another.
But who knows, maybe one day Valve, Sony, and Microsoft will support a cross platform steam workshop. Till that day we can only hope that Frontier listens to constructive feedback and changes things for the better.
But hey with all the game's current issues at the very least it's not a streaming/online only game like a current flight simulator is. Let's not accept that trend please.
