Differences to PC1
Hey there,

bugs aside, what does PC2 different than PC 1 ? What is better, what is worse? Most reviews are complaining of bugs, proffesionals I don´t trust / they don´t align with my preferences most of the time. Hoping to get some first hand feedback.

Well, we begin with much more simplified guest and staff ai for planco2 compared to plancoriginal. Then we move to the very simplified physics and animations tied tightly to splines in planco2. Then we look at the simplified graphics in planco2 that look better only because of the nvidia draw routines for 3d. Then we go into the design of actual game play. Plancoriginal had some Planco2 has very little. Then we look at systems from plancoriginal that were dropped in planco2. And compare the robust systems in Plancoriginal. Then we can look at the heavily flawed sequence editor in planco2 compared to the fairly useful one in plancoriginal.
Now let's talk the path system. Plancoriginal has simple but effective paths but time and patients one could learn to make things that worked well easily. Planco2 paths look great on the surface but not really. In fact they don't even sit on the surface! Just try to make a path go smoothly over a small hill. And then there is the auto snapping function with it that will distort hours of design and make your artistic path turn to rubbish. And the tool to edit paths.. Well that autosnapping makes it just as bad. And the pools have the same issue.
And the lighting in planco2! So much was bragged about rooms getting dark. Well that's only if you have specific graphics solutions so it's kind of a lame duck. And then only three lights are allowed to be triggered. Why? We may never know.... And the light power of various lighting items, very poor. Meanwhile there are signs that can illuminate large areas!

I guess we have to leave it to game modders to get planco2 up to the standards set in Plancoriginal.

The biggest difference: 40$ vs 2$

Better:

Pools/Water
Attach scenery to rides
Scale scenery
Slightly better graphics

Middle:

Paths (Better in some ways, worse in others)

Worse:

Everything Else

I would argue that the paths are now horrible. They were just OK in PC1, but now, for some reason, they are so bad they makes me want to stop playing (among a million other reasons). Paths are bad in laying and tweaking\, but the AI path finding is just dumb. No point in using anything but the smallest paths since the peeps don't dare to use anything but the "optimum walking line" anyway. They rather spend 10 minutes trying to walk through other peeps than spend 10 seconds to walk a slightly longer path around.

OK in PC2:
Scaling scenery.
Attaching scenery to rides (when it works).

Bad:
The rest. PC2 is has been so dumbed down it is in the same category as the mobile Pay 2 Win games.

In short: PC1 works and is fun to play. PC2 does not work and is just frustrating to play.

PC2 is not a game as there is no gaming part of it. There is 0 challenge and all it is good at is a scenery painter for a select few streamers to get their daily dose of validation from their viewers. That's it.

Well in PC2 I like the path draw tool, I like the stamp tool, the nodes you can move, and the smoother tool. Overall it feels a lot better and more creative potential than PC1 and PZ. One of the only things I don't like about paths is how paths are a white outline instead of showing the actual path, unless there's a toggle I'm missing or something which there could be because the UI in this game is horrible.

The AI is abysmal, which seems to be because Frontier dumbed down the game on PC because of consoles. The guest limit is atrocious as well as the map sizes.

I don't know, because I can't get through the tutorial since every time I open the research tab it crashes to desktop. :lunar2019madpig:

The dialogue reminds me of Park Beyond. Which is such a disappointing game I don't want anything to remind me of it.

Paths still have some issues but the potential is awesome (Prob Best difference between pc1 and pc2.

Graphics not much better than pc1 at least not enough to warrant the price difference and the lack of all that wonderful scenery that pc1 has to offer.

attachable ride decoration is a plus

pools I cant comment on as i don't use them and have not even tried them

steam boats run in a channel on pc2 very bad decision by frontier which needs changing imediately (this really bugs me lol)

not all coasters have lap modes (can't even guess at why not)

no synchronized stations (if i was prime minister/president i would have frontier executed for this)

no terrain making shapes (they missed a trick there)

would it really have been that difficult to make every scenery piece rotatable on all axes (no seriously would it?)

i'm sure i could go on but I wont however i will leave on this note. If you want to annoy every person that ever supported your games don't release dlc before fixing the major bugs and either don't drop the game price of the premium version of the game after all the people who pre ordered the game paid full price or at least give them the free update, frontier you should be ashamed of yourselves
What a shame. I guess I just continue to Play PC1 then. Seems Part 2 gets the ATARI treatment.

PS: Try Parkitect, it´s even better than PC1, but has Pixelgraphics. I like the Artstyle but I know many don´t like it so I warn you ahead
Yeah I also keep pushing back the purchase. Been waiting to see the upcoming major update to make my decision, however with Assetto Corsa Evo EA coming in this week I may put my funds towards that. Gahh!
stripped out content, lack of content, expect to pay thousands in DLC, no steam workshop makes game useless for pc players. Complete regret on purchase
