weird bug: pools not appearing

the game was working just fine! suddenly, adding pools does not add them. also, the tutorial level for pools will tell me to select the pool options, after which it will tell me to select the custom option; but when I do that, it will just tell me to select the pool option again, caught in an endless cycle of the game not understanding I have the custom pool tool open.

Try verifying your files in steam, see if that helps.

Make sure 'merge' is enabled if you're place the pools on-top of existing paths, else the pools will not appear.

oh, that is the error I got! 😮 how do I turn it on? why was I not informed of this feature? why does the setting presist no matter how many times I restart the stage?
