1.2.0 Update 2 - List of Changes (February 13th)
Hayo Park Managers!

We’re thrilled to be launching our second major update for Planet Coaster 2! Kicking off our Spring Roadmap, Update 2 brings a variety of features to give you even more creativity and flexibility in your parks, including ride synchronisation, interchangeable coaster cars, video billboards, and custom speakers!

Additionally, we have two new ‘de-themed’ standard versions of coasters ready for you to customise, a dizzying returning Flat Ride which we’ve rebuilt from the original Planet Coaster, new coaster customisations, as well as enhancements to guest navigation, UI, notifications, and more.

Please read below for a full breakdown of what's in Update 2.

FEATURES

VIDEO BILLBOARDS
  • Advertise your favourite Planet Coaster 2 shops with brand new Video Billboards.
  • Billboards are available in a variety of shapes and sizes to fit the aesthetics of any park, all of which can be scaled too.
  • [PC ONLY] Import your own .webm video files and add them to new and existing billboard scenery pieces for even more creativity.
CUSTOM SPEAKERS
  • [PC ONLY] Add an extra personal touch to your parks by importing your own .ogg, .mp3, .wav, .wma, .aac, .m4a and .flac audio files to existing speaker Scenery pieces.
RIDE SYNCHRONISATION
  • Time multiple rollercoasters, powered Tracked Rides, Flumes or slides to set off at the same time with Ride Synchronisation.
INTERCHANGEABLE COASTER CARS
  • On selected coasters, you can now swap out the coaster car type for certain other rollercoasters via the ‘Customise’ tab on a coaster. To use this feature, ensure you’ve turned it on in the game options menu.
STANDARD 'DE-THEMED' COASTERS
  • We are adding standard versions of the Zephyr - Junior Coaster and Valais & Nidwalden - Wing Coaster, providing blank canvases for your own creative flair. These can be switched onto your tracks using the interchangeable coaster car feature.
  • Additionally, the Dragon and Wing pieces from these coasters are now available to use as scenery items that can be added onto a plethora of rides and structures.
RETURNING FLAT RIDE
  • Reintroducing Pathos III! Previously seen in the original Planet Coaster, the multi-axis spinning ride has been rebuilt from the ground up for Planet Coaster 2.

UPDATES

NOTIFICATIONS
  • Each notification category can now be toggled on/off to player preference within a new ‘Notification Settings’ screen
  • Each notification category now displays all the different notification types within the same list (low priority, warning, and alert)
  • For additional park information, we have also added new notifications within these categories:
    • Facilities
    • Finances
    • Guests
    • Rides
    • Staff
    • Water Parks
NAVIGATION
PATH & POOL TOOL
  • Added a preview which shows the path or pools style choice when using the tool
MULTI-SELECT TOOL
  • Added filters for the multi-select tool for greater control
  • [PC ONLY] The multi-select tool can now be accessed by clicking and dragging within your park without needing to be in multi-select mode, and no longer requires confirmation once you’ve made a selection.
  • Refreshed the Multi-Tool UI to have selection actions in a convenient toolbar.
AUDIO
  • [PC ONLY] Added 'User Custom Audio' to placeable speakers.
  • Based on player feedback, we've:
    • Adjusted the volume of rides to prevent them being too loud and made further changes to volumes at different proximities/distances.
    • Adjusted the volume of several the coasters to either be more reactive to course of the track, or to be better balanced against the rest of the park.
    • Adjusted the volume of crowds so that the bustle of distant crowds feels more present, while lowering the ride presence of guest sounds, especially on coasters
  • Changed the way brake sounds are triggered on coasters for added realism
  • Park music will now stand out more against rides, coasters and guests in the audio mix
  • Added sounds for changing rooms and toilets to indicate when they need to be cleaned
  • Added context-based notification sounds to make the notification type more identifiable
  • Added rider reaction sounds when a coaster re-enters the station
  • Increased echo for coasters and riders in tunnels and enclosed spaces
  • Enhanced realism of audio on Valais & Nidwalden - Wave Coaster
