If at all, Planetcoaster is building on features that are based on the RTC series back to the day as does any other similar game that comes out with the only exception of Park Beyond that is more Unique through the crazyness added and indoorlands with it'S box type of rides aswell.
All the other rollecoaster type of games are there are like RCT wtih better graphics and more features.
RCT got water parks in RCT 3. Planet Coaster is getting water parks in Planet Coaster 2. For RCT it took 3 games. For PC it took 2 games. That means, Planet Coaster is getting water parks earlier in the franchise. That means, PC is ahead of RCT in that regard. Do you get it now?
Frontier added pools in their first RollerCoaster Tycoon game, and their second Planet Coaster game, so now RCT is winning?
I want to say that your user-name is apt, but I'm honestly not sure what you're getting at. Can you please clarify?
OK.
PC2 is bringing much more features than just waterpark. New tools, better graphics (with raytracing and such), overhaul of the management, etc etc
Hope you see now why it's a new game and not just a DLC.
No I don't. It is a bit more shiny which isn't necessary a good thing to me and the management and tools of the previous game where just fine to me.
I don't see any more value other than the water parks as a gamer and that makes it really hard for me to justify a buying when it is sold with such a high price.
Seeing what is happening at UBISoft and Sony.. but also TakeTwo.. somehow the whole game industries produces games that are not wanted or cooked up and tag them with a high AAA price and hope they make money that way only too lose more at the end.
Sure it is their business but I wonder what is happening here.

The completly customizeable rides (decors) is certainly a great plus.
What puzzles me negative however is that they didn't implement water slide physics!!
I had really expected this when their main selling point for this as a new expensive game seems to be the water park element next to better graphics.
