Where are the real switch tracks!

As some of you may have noticed, switch tracks are present, but they stop us directly and send us backwards... Why do this!!! I was surprised no one mentioned it!

I have not seen that in any of the career mode scenarios that had coasters that had them. There is another track that does what you describe.
