Are things differnt from PC1? Yes. Is all of it just a net positive? No.
Was the original release of PC1 a worse ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ than this? Yes.
Did they fix that game into something people love? Yes
So it's not that hard to accept that for now, we get a fantastic looking game that runs very well for most people, with some mind blowingly cool new features, literally more pieces than we got with PC1 at launch, and some issues with UI design and some technical things.
It's a fantastic game that will only get better.
- The pathway are bugged , people get stuck/lost
- A bit confusing to find some elements
- Research need buildings or something else to give a challenge
- Elctricity / water / waste could be somehow ugraded
(Played before on PC1-PZ )
2. If you accidentally pull out of the tutorial, you have to start the entire thing over to keep going with it! Ridiculous!
3. Peeps act stupid on paths. The pathways are definitely bugged!
4. Cannot find how to change colors of rides at all! It should be right in front of our faces!
5. If no one has ever played PL1, then they will never know to hold Z down to rotate a building. It's not in the tutorial.
6. Where the heck is mod support? Where is a Steam Workshop?
7. The entire "power" thing is unintuitive and ludicrous. The tutorial even has you build a "power station," (I guess that's what it was), in a field. Then, in almost the very next step, makes you build a roller coaster right on top of it. Stupid. Also, I don't like having to manage power. I would like the option to have it managed automatically. If there is an option, I can't find it, which is also bad.
8. I cannot find snapping! Where is it? Is it even there? If not, that's a huge issue!
9. Lastly, don't limit maps and crowd size to compliment my computer. You don't know what my computer can do, so let me decide for myself the size of the map and the crowd limit!
SO ... that's my take after an hour+ or so. They fixed PC1 after it's terrible launch. I am sure this one will get the love and care it so desperately requires.
and How do I get What I pay for
- QOL changes like change the camera keybindings and so on.
- visitor limit: Yes, I'm sure they had good intentions but really, on PC at least they should raise the max, let me myself find out at which amount of visitors my pc dies.
- I hope they add some basic things maybe outside of paid dlc like atm's, fireworks and alike.
- Map size, well, I'm personally fine with this, but i've seen this sometimes now. Here the same stance as with visitor limit, just give us bigger maps and let us find out if our computer can manage or dies. If they are really unsure about it, just put a one time warning on this, when you go the first time for bigger map / higher visitor limits and tell the user, it's not recommended and your own decision and it should be fine.
- the limit in Workshop makes imho no sense, at least not on pc.
Also when you design a scenario keep in mind coaster clearance is a thing. I saw in a career to many coaster pre designed running through trees, and probably (if possible) had their hands/heads chopped off because they collided with intersecting track.
Ok, that was just my pet peeves, but for real:
The UI is bloated and the game doesn't tell you things (you need to figure it out by yourself).
i feel the Guest spawn rate is slightly to high, especially combined with the pathfinding of the peeps, so areas get overcrowded easily (esp. in career, with those narrow 4m pathways).
Pathfinding general, i mean we can now use plazas, so guests please use the new space :)
All in All and besides the negativity i like this game and it really fixed most major issues i had with planco 1. (Pathbuilding, bad performance while having high item count+guest count, the brush tool is a blessing of god and coaster smoothing is just *chef kiss*
Core complaints:
1. Paths. While there are more options for path configuration, unless you are playing on level terrain, the different paths just don't mesh correctly. Additionally, building elevated paths is just frustrating as there is very little control over the incline.
2. Scenary / Building. I get why free placement is a thing but the lack of snapping make building things like long fences and tall columns tedious. Having doors and windows default placement being horizontal instead of vertical makes them just a complete pain to place as you need to break out advanced placement every single time. Most infuriating is that the default placement of an awning, which you would like to be horizontal IS vertical. Building an immersive and well themed park feels like a grind now with the current controls which takes away from the enjoyment of building a well themed park.
